Don Lacourse (Lead/backup vocals; lead guitar; harmonica; keyboard)

“Veni Vidi Vici…”

I CAME …onto the music scene at the age of thirteen, after dragging my brother’s ‘64 Fender Mustang guitar out of the attic. I quickly went to work absorbing music, learning from everything, and everyone around me.

I SAW …right away that I was destined to become a songwriter and composer, and someday a band leader. It has been a long-time dream to bring together musicians of different backgrounds to create unique sounds. Through the years, I have been perfecting my craft as a musician, learning guitar, banjo, mandolin, drums, and harp to entertain the masses.

I CONQUERED …many of my personal fears over the years that truly put me in my own way, and I’ve come to recognize that my musical vision could not be realized without other musicians, because without them, I am nothing… ~Don Lacourse

Carol Kelly (Lead and backup vocals; percussion accompaniment)

– For the last fifteen years, vocalist/songwriter, Carol Kelly, aka Lady Phoenix, has been performing with cover and original bands in various venues throughout the New Hampshire circuit. Surrounded by an outstanding network of musicians, she has grown as a performer, while “entertaining the masses.” She studied voice (R&B, soul, gospel, and choir vocalizing) at The American Academy of Music in Malden, MA.
Carol credits the encouragement and support from her husband and two sons as the “driving force” behind her musical success, and refers to long-time band-mates, Don Lacourse and Doug Sally as “the wind beneath her Lady Phoenix wings.” Together, she and Don have written over fifty songs, with much of the content a reflection of a “Musician’s Life” and how music has impacted and inspired their lives.
“Music is my connection to people –the universal language. We all feel it; we all relate to it; we are all effected by it. Music is my expression; it is my release, the core of my existence …my solace.” ~Carol Kelly

Nance Gaudet (Lead/backup vocals; rhythm acoustic 12-string; percussion accomp.)

–A seasoned musician, singer-songwriter Nancy Gaudet sings with passion and soul. She has an incredibly versatile vocal range that allows her to perform a diverse assortment of styles, from easy-listening, country, and pop, to hard-hitting blues and rock ballads. Her inherent vocal capabilities allow for effortless harmonies from soprano to tenor, making her a valued ingredient of the harmonious sounds and original styles that comprise TWILIGHT GYPSY.

Doug Sally (Keyboard; rhythm acoustic guitar; backup vocals; percussion accompaniment)
–Doug Sally first started playing the piano as a child, and learned music basics by playing in bands from junior high school –on. He had some formal training in college and learned to play a few more instruments to further his understanding of music and to make a living. Doug has played with folks, such as GNP, Not Quite Right, B Wood Band, The Harding Brothers, Undercover Operatives, Smokin’ (for nine happy years), and more! Most of his musical soul is wrought of the blues, 60’s and 70’s rock, and mainly in the Little Feat heartbeat. Doug shares the Twilight Gypsy stage with some of his dearest friends.

Influences

When TWILIGHT GYPSY first formed in 2011, it was The Twilight Gypsy Trio, comprised of members Don, Carol, and Nance. Our first gig was at a benefit in northern NH for the (VFW) Veterans. That was followed up in the lakes region of NH at another Veterans benefit. Soon, we had a following of NH veterans. The songs we chose to perform included covers that the veterans might appreciate, including "The 8th of November," by Big & Rich. We continued to perfect the song, and enjoyed the audience reaction so much that we included it on our demo CD.
As a group, our influences range from 60's and 70's rock, blues, and modern country.
