Los Salazar
Mariachi Band in Santa Ana, CA
Why hire Los Salazar?
Give your party/event an authentic taste of Mexican music! We are a family trio/band; father, daughter, and son. We dress impecably with elegant, yet fun, mexican/mariachi attire. Our trio/mariachi band consists of three acoustic instruments; a lead-mexican-guitar ("requinto"), rhythm guitar, and a mariachi bass ("guitarrón). We have an infinite repertoire exceeding over 1,000 songs (we're not exagerating). This isn't our part time job or something we just do on the weekends. This is what we do. This is our profession.
About
Trio/Mariachi Salazar was founded by Ruben Salazar in 1996. It’s a trio band made up of a family; father, daughter and son. A way to think of this trio is as having three lead singers! Each one of them has a beautiful voice and when they harmonize and sing together, the only word that can describe them is AWESOME.
Carlos Ruben Salazar, the son, plays the guitarrón (mariachi bass). Azucen Salazar, the daughter, plays rhythm-guitar. Ruben Salazar, the father and founder, plays the requinto (mexican-lead-guitar). They play and sing at the same time. So technically, you’re hearing 6 instruments; 3 voices, 2 guitars, and a bass.
Ruben Salazar, the founder and father, began his career as a musician at the early age of eleven back in Mexico in 1966; he started singing and playing the guitar in buses, corner-taco stands, and bars (no joke…). As the years went by, Ruben learned from many master Mexican musicians and became a world class musician himself. In 1986 he migrated to the United States of America with his wife and two kids (Carlos Rubén & Azucena).
In 1992, Carlos Rubén (only 11 years old), joined him. They performed as a duet up until 1996. When Azucena turned eleven (in 1996) she joined them and they became “Trio Los Salazar.” Together they became extremely popular and became very much in demand.
They immediately began appearing in numerous T.V. shows: “Escándalo TV,” “Primera Edición,” “Cuanto Cuesta El Show,” “Noticias Univisión,” “¿Qué Pasa Con José Vargas?,” “El Grito de Independencia,” and many more. In addition, Azucena and Carlos Ruben participated in the National T.V. show, “Objetivo Fama 2005” for 14 consecutive weeks where Azucena made the finals and was 1st place Runner Up out of thousands of participants! Azucena even protagonizad a music video with Mexican Celebrities “Paquita La Del Barrio” and “Ezequiel Peña.” She also appeared in the T.V. shows “Sábado Gigante,” “El Gordo y La Flaca,” and “Despierta America.”
Moreover, this trio/band was requested to perform at the White House (for President Bush himself) in 2006 for a “Cinco de Mayo” celebration (go to the pictures link to view their picture with the President and Emilio Estefán). In 2008, they were the opening act for a well established celebrity (Paquita La Del Barrio), at the Gibson Amphitheatre. They also performed in the Golden Eagle Awards, sharing the stage with internationally-renowned singers José Feliciano, José José, and Viki Carr. Their repertoire exceeds over 1000 songs (without exaggerating) and their prices are very accessible.
Aside from their extensive professional experience, one of their greatest qualities is that they are very down to earth people. They’re friendly and are very easy to work with; they will always make every possible accommodation to satisfy their customers 100%.
