Acoustic guitar and dusky vocal melody resonating with poetry from the road. It's Alt-Country meets Americana. I play a custom built Wilborn Acoustic guitar. I play Lee Oskar harmonicas. I have an awesome Fishman PA system for small venues and house parties. Ben Johnston joins me on drums from time to time adding an amazing texture and ambiance. I play mostly original songs, with a few covers from artists I admire.

Price Range: $100 to $500
Gig Length: 30 - 150 minutes
The audience will hear soulful folk songs with Tom's dusky Baritone vocal, strong acoustic guitar work and exceptional cross-harp playing. Tom plays songs that tell stories, often of the time he spent in Nevada. The songs can be sometimes moody, and often playful. Tom plays mostly originals, but also throws in covers from such artists as Neil Young, Ryan Adams, Beck and Paul Westerberg.
Tom Melancon hails from Reno Nevada, where he led or contributed to some of the most influential and popular bands in the "Biggest Little City's" thriving scene, including "The Pods" and "Ghost Ranch." Tom has lived in Seattle for 15 years. He played bass for several years with Angelo DelSenno. Tom recorded a 5 song EP titled "Gun" under the name of 'Downward Facing Dude' in 2011. He has toured several times in the Northwest with a stellar singer/songwriter from Nashville, Mark Huff. Tom is currently playing solo gigs and putting time in to form an Americana/Alt-Country band called "American Flats." No particular stage set up. A little reverb in the vocal channel is fantastic.
