Growing up across the street from a cornfield in Iowa couldn't stop Tom Garland from becoming "one of the country's best young professional comics..."(TravelIowa.com).
Most recently, Garland's unique stand-up was featured at Jester Jester's Comedy & The Comedy Bin in London, England, fresh off a 12-show stint as the sole Opening Act for Steve-O & Tom Green's "Icons of Comedy: Original Pranksters Tour" at the legendary Starlite Theater at The Riviera Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Garland has also been featured on MTV.com, SiriusXM Radio, iHeartRadio, AmericasComedy.com, TheCollegeTownLife.com, and has two albums in rotation on Spotify, Last.fm, and Pandora Comedy Radio.
His success though has been no fluke. Garland has been supported by some of Hollywood's biggest names. His June 2013 album release called "Unleashed" (a follow-up to April 2012's "Leash Your Kids") features an introduction from Andy Milonakis. He has also been heard on Andrew Dice Clay & Wheels Parise's "Rolling With Dice & Wheels" (Formerly called "I DO TINGS") Las Vegas Comedy Podcast and shared the stage with Joel McHale, B.J. Novak, Michael Ian Black, Heather McDonald, Alonzo Bodden, Josh Blue, Yakov Smirnoff, Alex Reymundo, Pete Lee, Mike E. Winfield, Chad Daniels, Mike Lawrence, Loni Love, Carlos Mencia, and a long growing list of the nation's top headliners, all by the age of 25.
Its no wonder that when Eastern Iowa's KGAN CBS2 & KFXA FOX 28 featured Garland on their morning news they headlined his incredible story "Iowa Kid Now 'Big Time.'"
Garland’s explosive comedy career began in the unlikely locale of Cedar Rapids, Iowa back in 2010. The comedy scene in Iowa was virtually obsolete, and Garland's big-time ambition was usually met with harsh disbelief and ridicule, which provided the initial spark for his larger-than-life stage presence and his incredibly quick improvisational timing.
Paying his dues and working his way up from absolute scratch in some of the roughest rooms imaginable (his first gig was at Coyote-Ugly-themed alternative bar where he would stand on the bar and step over drinks to tell jokes) Garland quickly gained a cult-following and was able to produce himself not only a rock solid act, but is also largely accredited by local newspapers for having been the driving force behind founding a majority of the comedy scene in Iowa, which The Daily Iowan headlined, "The Little Comedy Scene That Could." Business publications were also in shock. "About three years ago, Iowa City was essentially jokeless...Last week [Garland] opened for Tom Green and Steve-O at the Riviera in Las Vegas" (Pat Shaver, The Corridor Business Journal).
Since then, nearly constant touring has led Garland to working world famous clubs such as Chicago's Zanies Comedy Nightclub, opening up sold-out college shows with over 1,000 in attendance, and being booked to entertain a variety of Fortune 500 companies, including John Deere and Rockwell Collins.
Back on the home front, Garland is still known as "Iowa's funny man" (Iowa City Press-Citizen Headline). He serves as a Producer / House MC for four rooms: The First Avenue Club, Gabe's, Penguins Comedy Club and The Iowa City Yacht Club, where he puts on the #1 regularly attended comedy show in the state, The Catacombs of Comedy Showcase, on the campus of America's top party school.
"From Iowa to Vegas" (AmericasComedy.com) and everywhere in between, Garland can adapt to any audience and deliver with an unsurpassed energy. There's no telling where he'll be headed next, but one thing is for sure: "Tom Garland won't quit." (The Cedar Rapids Gazette).

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 5 - 90 minutes
Tom Garland has an incredibly versatile act that is never offensive, always funny, and is adaptable to any audience. Garland's time on stage can range anywhere from 1/2 hour to a full hour based on request. He usually provides 1-2 hand-picked opening acts (who have an equal amount of professional credits as he does) free of charge, making the whole event usually last around a 90 minute total stage performance.
Garland is always writing new jokes and changing his act, he strives daily to come up with new, fresh material. So even if you've seen him once, twice, or a hundred times before, "...it's never the same show twice." (Corridor Business Journal).
Garland also realizes that he isn't a household name, but he'd love to change that. After every show, Garland is available for the remainder of the evening (even until the early hours of the morning) to stick around to chat with fans, sign autographs, take pictures, and just share some extra out-of-character laughs. He loves meeting new faces and always attempts to stay in touch with most everyone he meets after the show.
Rider and Contract provided before anything is finalized.
