The Vespertine Circus brings the charm of a big-top circus to urban denizens. One of the main atmospheric elements of their show is the relatively small size of the venue. The audience is able to be up-close and personal with the caste, creating an intimate connection with the artists. When Jezebel Wilder spins her silk to twirl in the air, you feel the wind in your face.
Can you say "stage presence?" Good, I knew you could. Each member of the troupe has a distinct character, and their personalities come through in their acts. The audience's mood changes as they respond to each artist's emotive performances. Jubilee Maya ensnares admirers with his penetrating gaze while he almost casually contorts his body.
It's playful, it's thrilling, it's beautiful. There's no place I'd rather go with friends on the 3rd Friday of every month. See you there!
