About

The Seaons,formerly Apple Siders started playing in April 2010 for the purpose of performing the music written by Sean Siders for his senior project at South Medford High School in Medford Oregon. That project entailed the production of a 6 song EP "Reaching Out" which was written, recorded, and performed entirely by Sean at his home studio (re: his bedroom). Upon completion, Sean solicited the help of his South Medford High music friends so that the songs could be played publicly. During that first year, the band was named "Artist in Residence" by the prestigious Britt Festivals and was able to record the first band EP "Sounds Human". That recording became a reality when after one of their shows, a generous patron traveling from Alaska left the band a significant gratuity.
With that recording, the band was able to secure more playing opportunities and during the summer of 2011, they released an EP "We The Seasons" (electronic only). The end of summer saw the band change their name to The Seaons, the result of the misspelling of the word "seasons". The band liked the way it sounded misspelled and so the name was adopted.
The Seaons are an Indie Rock band that primarily plays original music written by Sean Siders, a percussion/music major at Southern Oregon University. The music has a distinct percussive feel and tends to captivate audiences immediately. Sean is joined in the band by original members Mitchell Winters and Elijah Jones. The newest member to the band is Micah McCaw, a finalist at the 2011 Southern Oregon's Got Talent. Original member, Bryce Miller is a guest player when on break from the University of Oregon, where he is a music major.
The Seaons perform a very diverse set of music and can play 2 full hours of just their original material. The band has the ability to adapt to their surroundings and can simplify their sets by reducing band member size, reducing space needed, and by taking away amplification if necessary. All opportunities are considered. The band also can provide it's own sound equipment/engineer if needed. If given space and a power source the band can provide everything else.
Currently, The Seaons are in the process of completing their first full length album while continuing to compose the final songs on a second full length album. Both albums are scheduled to be released in 2012/2013

Influences

The main influences for the band would be Coldplay, U2, Mutemath, Vampire Weekend, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Keane, Muse, Jimi Hendrix, Switchfoot, Anberlin, and Death Cab for Cutie. Newer bands that are getting The Seaons attention are Band of Horses, Campfire OK, Young the Giant, Fleet Foxes, Foster the People, and Bon Iver.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 150 minutes

Audience members are treated to an engaging performance of meaningful lyrics and extremely catchy tunes. While many bands rely on covers to captivate their audiences, The Seaons offer up new and enticing material that seemingly hypnotizes audience members in to believing they already know the song. It's been said many times that it takes people 3 or 4 times hearing something before they can really connect with a song, but The Seaons defy those odds and capture people's attention right from the start. The energy of the performance can get some audience members dancing, some clapping along, and some singing or yelling. It's completely alright, however, to just sit back and listen. Audience members alike will leave with a smile, the best gift from the band.

Full band when we provide sound equipment: 2 Amps, 2-4 Speakers, 3 Monitors, Drum set ,additional percussion, Keyboard, Synthesizer, 3 vocal mics, 2-3 drum mics,, boom,kick, and speaker stands
Power source to accomodate full band and all power needs
smaller stage requirement for acoustic set
Stage/flat surface area for 3-5 piece band (100-400 sq ft)

Additional Notes:
The Seaons don't require any exceptional stage services and can provide their own PA for smaller shows. The band is fully equipped with mixing console, speakers, monitors, microphones, snake,amps,DI's, and all necessary stands and cables. There is currently no light show and the band does not operate with a rider. The band does have an EPK that contains an input list and equipment list. A stage plot will be provided to any venue that requires one. The band does have the ability to simplify depending on the venue's needs. While normally the band plays with a drum set, that can be modified down to Djimbe, or kick drum, or Toms. The band usually uses a keyboard and a synthesizer, but the synthesizer can be withdrawn as well. Acoustic sets are also an option. This is a very versatile band that can play to the venue's needs.
