All of our tunes are happy, feel good, have fun songs. Our ensemble members have been trained in their profession, and our sound gear is tip top!
Saw The Gootch last night at wild wing cafe in Southside, and I'm not talkin classic tv shows when I say, "good times." They played a solid assortment of songs from classic rock (beatles) to funk (parliament) to r&b (stevie wonder) to reggae/ska (sublime) to rap (snoop doggy dogg). I was pleasantly surprised to hear their range and how they played each song in it's true style, then adding their own spin in solo sections, then back to the original style. This is a solid cover band, not just a bunch of guys who play 3 chords and like a bunch of music. Lol You should check this group out, they are worth seeking out and driving to if they are not playing in your local area.
I was entertained last night after watching and listening to The Gootch at The Landing. They were fabulous and will be searching for their next venue. My next private party will include The Gootch.
Saw The Gootch band last night at the Landing. Their siongs were on point and
absolutely kept you moving with the crowd. We were hearing them for the first time and were blown away. Finally I've found a band woth following around Jacksonville.
I was very satisfied with this band for my party. They play very well and were professional start to finish. I would recommend this group for anyone that enjoys good music and great vocals.
I will hire them again.
Response from The Gootch:
Thank you Mr. Sancho! We look forward to working with you guys in the future!

To some, “The Gootch” is an unseen bully from ‘80s sit-com “Different Strokes.” To Jacksonvillians in the know, The Gootch is a funky and fresh ensemble of the area’s best musicians. Combining funk, R&B, hip-hop rock and soul, the quintet gives its audiences a hip-shaking, sweaty good time at Northeast Florida’s various live music venues.
The Gootch is fronted by Jacksonville Beach singer and actor Adonis Boyd, who has spent the last 15 years performing in some of the region’s most popular bands (Mr. Beam). His groove is always palpable, and his voice, stage presence and sense of humor are widely known as a source of joy and good times for Jacksonville club-goers. The band’s rhythmic anchor comprises bassist Travis Morton and drummer Jon Farmer. Morton, a former member of Shakti Cypher, Avant World Ensemble and Method, enjoys a unique command of his instrument, helping him easily bridge the gaps between his jazz-influenced background and role as The Gootch’s rock-solid funkmaster. Farmer, an educator and schooled national musician, buoys Morton with deep grooves and meticulous feel. His sound is at once big and bold, tasteful and subtle. Those who had the pleasure of attending the storied “The Elevated Hip-Hop Experience” will remember founder Jeremy McKinnies, better known as “Myztroh”. A talented vocalist and keyboardist, McKinnies lays the melodic foundation for The Gooch -- harmonizing with Boyd one minute, busting out a freestyle rap the next. On top of it all strides former Cosmic Pimp Alex Kearson. Lead guitarist for a host of area bands, “A.K.” (as he is known in musician circles) is a smooth rhythm guitarists, keeping people on the dance floor throughout the evening. But make no mistake, A.K. is blazing lead player when duty calls (and duty often calls). It all comes together in The Gooch.
Covering the music of artists like James Brown,Snoop Dogg,Parliament/Funkadelic, Cee Lo Green, 311, Sublime, Maroon 5, The Gooch puts its own spin on the funkiest tunes of both the past and present, laying it down for the booty-shaking masses.
