Twenty-Three years of entertaining and educating people about monkeys and apes is a long time. I am seasoned now at being able to bring the best possible show to your special event. One of my special missions is to give you and your family an up-close and very personal encounter with my presentations but to do this in a safe and very joyful way.
We wish to give you an opportunity to get the greatest photos and have some really wonderful memories of the time that the monkeys of SunShine MonkeyShines came to your event. We are very proud to say that we have been to some families many times as their children and family members wish to see the monks over and over again.
My mother is a retired teacher and my father who just passed over recently was the animal lover. I as a child was always out in the entertainment business doing something that was putting me in front of an audience so the monkey shows were a very natural thing for me to start doing.
Monkeys just started coming to me after I got my first one. Many retired organ grinder monkeys - research monkeys - family pet- more and more monks just came. I always say the monks that are meant to come to me just come. Believe it or not, I actually took care of 17 at one time! Thank goodness, I do not have that many monkeys to take care of now. That large a number of monks to care for is for a much younger person, that’s for sure.
The money that I receive is used to care for the expenses for caring of the monkeys. This does help but I do what I do not out of that need. I do the shows because I love showing everyone how unique and special creatures of God that they are. So many people have desired to have a monkey as a pet. Of course, we all know that they do not make good pets because of the amount of love and attention they require, but with my show I can let people understand more and learn some really unique things about monkeys.
My husband and I started a publishing business several years ago called Miracle Publishers. The children’s book series called “The Little Monkey Rascals” is doing very well and has been a real tool for us to offer to our partygoers. Andrew my late star-performing monkey had an attitude problem so in order to heal from my terrible loss, I decided to write a 14 book series and the first book is called “Andrew and His Attitude.” This book is talked about on my web-site. You might wish to order one for your family.
There is lots of information about out business on the SunShine MonkeyShines web site and photos too. We do hope you will visit us there and that you will post your photos on our Facebook account after we do a presentation with your special group. You all get the best photos and I love to be able to see them too.
We are offering two different themes of our “Mini Stage Show.” The themes are “The Little Monkey Rascals,” (this show colors are red, green. blues and yellow.) The second type of “Mini Stage Show,”) theme is called “(The Little Princess Monkey Show.) This show colors are greens and pink. As a special gift from SunShine MonkeyShines no matter what the presentation may be, we always bring suckers and a photo trading card with the picture to hand out after the show.

Our show has changed as the monkeys have gone in and out of our lives. The past monkeys have passed their part of the show to the new members of the cast. We bless the monkeys before each and every show. They are truly such special creatures and we do know how they can make everyone put a smile on their face and a giggle in their heart. The people that have seen the show continue to speak to me about their memories and photos of when the monkeys came to their special event. These memories that people keep telling us about keep pushing us forward to be better at our shows every time we go out. We really do make those once in a lifetime memories that will last forever.

What to Expect

The show is an audience participation presentation - so the kids - the moms - the dads and maybe even you will be staring in the monkey show with the monks. The show is full of neat educational things such as monkeys swinging with their tails and drinking from bottles and un-zipping their snack purse. Everything is so unique to see the little stars of the show do.

Each monkey is very special with their very own part of the show. Silly Willy is the opening act because he is the toddler monkey. Sissy Lou is the beautiful black and white monkey that loves to sit on your lap and even sometimes will give you a big monkey hug. Maggie Mae is the monkey star of the show. She is the Little Princess Monkey and the Biker Girl in her Harley Shirt. She will be walking on the backs of everyone at the end of her part of the show.

No matter which monkey is out during the show you will be greatly entertained and have wonderful memories that will last forever.

We are famous for our Grand Finale of the show, so I am sure you will be excited to see this part for sure. After this special treat for everyone we will gather the party guest around our set-up and do our group photos - on one-two-three - "Say Monkeys!" Suckers and photo trading cards will be give to everyone at the end of the show.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
Just some help to bring props and monkey cages in and out to our van.

Additional Notes:
We prefer to keep our show to a moderate size groups - we usually do two shows at schools back to back to keep the show as intimate as possible.

When we come into your home, fellowship hall or special room, I tell people to open up the room and we like to be in a corner to that our umbrella pole will be in a corner. The colorful umbrella serves as our backdrop for photos and the show set and the area behind the umbrella will serve as out backstage area for the sages and other things that we use to carry out props in with.

We always like to have children if they are attending our presentation down on the floor. We bring a way of marking off the show area from where the children will be sitting. The adults will take the seats behind the children on the floor.

We bring everything that we will need except electricity for fans in the extreme heat or heaters in the extreme cold weather. Some people will choose to place us in garage areas for home parties and they are instructed to help us with this when we are in those extreme conditions with our weather.

Don't worry about where to put our show - down through the years we have been in hallways - in kitchens - the trailers - in banks - in cafeterias - the classrooms - in bonus rooms - everywhere - we still have fun and make wonderful memories for everyone. We are flexible and can adjust to your area that you wish for us to do our shows.

The one thing that we are requesting since Maggie Mae is the alpha of my troupe is to please remove any dogs that might bark. Maggie is very protective of the other two monkeys. Of course, since she is the alpha monkey she will be more interested in protecting her members from danger than doing her part in the show - that is what alpha monkeys do!!! So please think about this before we arrive.

A place to park close to the door is always really nice for all concerned. The helpers that we ask for to help with bringing in the props and the monks will appreciate this also if it is cold, raining or extremely hot.

So there we go - that's not all that bad is it! Oh I forgot to tell you - the monks wear diapers and I bring all of the proper trash bags and clean up stuff for our set-up area after the show. We hope you will not even notice that we have been there with real live monks in your home or special evert location.

It is ok you can be brave - we have never had any accidents or any problems with our shows in 23 years. We know what we are doing and the audience understands this from the beginning, I will be teaching the audience how to be around monks during the show and of course, If the monks are trying to be a little bad I give them the big look just like you do your children and then we just start again. See you can do this - I promise you will be so surprised how much fun it will be. Be brave!!!

For years I always thank my mothers or party planners for being brave - I wonder what I would have thought as I was waiting to let "REAL LIVE MONKS" come into my house!
