Booking Process and Pricing
Thank you so much for your interest in booking Suit Up, Soldier for your event. We promise to bring extra life to your event and are grateful to be a part of it! :)
What First?
Take a look at our set list. See if you like the options and could see yourself enjoying a live performance of any of them. Each hour you hire us equals about 10 songs. Any song that you’d like performed that is not currently on the song list, is considered a special request. Keep in mind you can make 1 special request per hour for which Suit Up, Soldier is hired. For example, if you hire us for three hours, you can make 3 special requests at no additional charge (subject to approval). You may make more special requests for an additional fee. We’ll get to that later under the pricing section.
How Does It Work?
You can hire Suit Up, Soldier per hour. We require 2 hours of setup and soundcheck time (sometimes 3 hours for larger events) and generally do not charge for this time. The team will arrive 2 hours prior to the scheduled time in order to set up and soundcheck. We will need at least 1 hour to clean up. If these windows of setup and clean-up interfere with the current event itinerary, then alternative arrangements can be made. For instance, if you’d like us to arrive and be fully set up earlier than the 2-hour window that precedes the scheduled time, then you can pay for early setup. The amount of minimum time unfortunately can’t be negotiated and is needed to smooth out technical kinks and allow for the highest quality sound at your event. Please plan accordingly and let’s work out the best scenario for everyone!
In addition to the hourly rate, we request gas to be covered and sometimes overnight lodging (home, hotel, etc.). Lodging is only required if the band/technician members are traveling more than 2 hours from their homes (usually Vineyard, UT)
What Can We Expect From Suit Up, Soldier? And What Will SUS Need From Me?
Expect our best every time! :)
We provide: Sound equipment, mixing board, audio engineer, setup, live entertainment, emcee (free and optional), and music playlist services during breaks (free and optional).
You provide: Sufficient power and access to electrical outlets to handle our system (We’ve always done fine as long as there are two circuits available), communication with event coordinator, emailed itinerary, a covered area or stage that will fit band/team members, and 1 meal per team member. Please allow us 30 minutes minimum to eat as well. If you need the team there all day, then it may be applicable to provide up to 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) per person. This is rare.
The band takes a 15-minute break between each hour of performing. So if you hire us for 3 hours we’ll take two 15-minute breaks which means you get 2.5 hours of live music and 30 minutes of “DJ Music” where we simply push play on a playlist of songs of your choice. We’re happy to help you curate these playlists if you need some guidance.
We want to make the whole process as simple and stress-free as possible. Many inexperienced performers overlook certain details that our team does not. We understand how overwhelming it can be to plan an event and book entertainment! Our goal is to lighten the load and cultivate a process that is smooth and successful. :)
Pricing

-One hour of live music
-Free 2hr set up and soundcheck before the event

Additional Players: Want to add horns? Piano? More vocalists? No problem! We can generally find additional players at an average of $300 per night. Price varies depending on location and performance length. Let us know and we’ll get you a quote! (Note: we also have pre-recorded tracks for certain instruments that we play along with for certain songs for no additional cost)
Stage: We can provide a stage and/or lighting for an additional cost. Stages generally start around $2000 and lighting generally starts around $500. Note that this will require extra setup time so we'll need to factor that into the event schedule. Let us know your vision for how you want the stage to look, whether it includes projectors, flames, a laser show, or anything else you can dream up and we'll try to make it happen!
Lodging: Only required if our travel is more than 2 hours driving each way. 1 bed per performer (Performers are usually ok sharing rooms with the same gender, so for example if you hire an additional female vocalist, she will most likely need her own room). We’re not picky with lodging options, but rooms with AC and working plumbing are always appreciated ;). Just keep us in the loop on how you prefer to provide lodging.
Meal(s): No allergies that we know of. Again, we’re not picky :)
Travel/Gas: This generally comes out to roughly $0.50-0.75 per mile per vehicle round trip (from Vineyard, UT.) Ultimately, this is negotiable based on your event location and amount of players.
Special Requests: For no additional charge, we do one special request (upon approval) per hour that we are hired. We charge $300 per additional request outside of that to help cover rehearsal time for band members.
Thanks again for considering us and don’t be afraid to ask any questions. We’re happy to answer anything! There is no such thing as a dumb question. Feel free to call or text either number below.

A heaping cup of rock, a spoonful of sultry ballads, and a pinch of pop.
Suit Up, Soldier was founded by vocalist Wesley Monahan while in college. After several years honing the band's sound and lineup in the competitive Provo music scene, Suit Up, Soldier coalesced with the additions of McKay 'Spartacus' Johnson on drums and Ryan 'Stingray' Rostrom on lead guitar. The band dropped their debut album 'Curse the Day I Act My Age' on May 14, 2021 on all digital music platforms.
The album quickly generated buzz and has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify. This led to regional touring, opportunities to open for established rock acts such as COIN and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and a record deal. The album is now available in physical CD format via Renaissance Records, and the band hopes you'll follow them on social media for updates on tour dates and new releases...

If we provide our own sound, we'll simply need a space to perform and a good power supply.
If you are providing sound, we'll need at least a 24 channel mixer to plug everything into.
