Stage/Setup Requirements:
Within CA we bring all our own equipment. Outstide we can negotiate.
Additional Notes:
StudentReach uses 3 or more large video screens for our presentations. The screens are either 10’ wide each (for a total of 30’) or 14’ each (for a total of 42’). The room and total number of students in the presentation are subject to those considerations.
Facility:
Our ideal setup is a large theater or small gymnasium that seats 300-600 students. We are willing to do multiple presentations at no additional charge so that our presentation can be as effective as possible. Please contact us with specific questions. We can and do present to larger groups.
Technical:
The following are necessary to have an effective presentation:
Lighting Control - The presentation facility must be “blacked-out.” All ambient light (except exit lights and any other safety lighting) needs to be eliminated. A theater or assembly room usually meets this requirement. A gymnasium may need to have windows blacked out.
Sound Control - The presentation room needs to be free from outside sound distractions. Also, the DayOne3D presentation uses sound and music which could be distracting to nearby classes if sound isolation is not adequate.
Proper Viewing Angles - Students should be seated in front of the video used for the presentation.
Sound Equipment - The DayOne3D presentation uses video and speaking segments to communicate effectively as well as other interactive elements. A good sound system is needed. 2 microphones and an audio input are required. An audio technician who has experience with the system should be supplied. (SR will supply a sound system in California, Oregon, Washington, or Nevada and some regions.)
Lighting - The necessity of blacking out the facility requires that artificial lighting is used. A “follow spot” is essential, but if the school does not have access to a follow spot, isolated lighting can be used. Gymnasium lights alone will not provided the flexibility needed for an effective presentation.
Faculty/staff placement - StudentReach speakers are skilled communicators with experience in crowd control, however, it is best not to have to use these skills. Having faculty and staff seated among students is the most effective way to avoid distractions.
Setup and Assistance:
Time - StudentReach staff and volunteers need at least 1 hour to set up the video presentation (2 hours is preferred). If sound and lighting are provided by SR, a minimum of 2 hours is needed.
Student Volunteers - StudentReach needs to have 4 or more student volunteers to help setup the presentation, serve as “ushers” and help “load out.’ Our “ushers” help distribute 3D glasses (and LED response lights if used) to each student and to collect the LED lights at the end of the presentation (students can keep the 3d glasses). Ushers would also help pickup any 3D glasses or trash left behind by students in the presentation. This help will facilitate quick turnaround for multiple presentations.
