About
St. Mark's Square is a professional string quartet whose members are: Allison Steiner (first violin), Aleksis Zarins (second violin), Kirsten Weingartner-Weiss (viola) and Michael Murray (cello). Its members are currently instructing at or have served on the faculties of Missouri State University, Drury University and College of the Ozarks. Each are permanent chair musicians in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and perform with the Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks. Their extensive backgrounds include studies at Manhattan School of Music, University of Arizona, Depaul University and Missouri State University. Collectively, their performance experience has brought them around the world to concert stages in Europe, the Far East and South America. They have performed in Broadway shows, the stages of NYC's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as Branson theaters. These individual artists have shared the stage with such talents as Tony Bennett, Kansas, The Lawrence Welk Show, Anne Murray, Steve & Edie Gormet, Manheim Steamroller and many others.
What to Expect
St. Mark's Square is comprised of the four founding members, Allison Steiner (first violin), Aleksis Zarins (second violin), Kirsten Weingartner-Weiss (viola) and Michael Murray (cello). In some circumstances due to busy professional schedules on each members part, substitutions may occur. Know that the quality of the music and the musicians themselves will not be negatively affected by a replacement. St. Mark's Square only works with the very best and most professional musicians anywhere.
