Star Siren is a multi-hyphenate performance artist specializing in fire. Her fire dancing consists of small, hand-held fire props and focuses on fire-eating. She is experienced as a jazz and cabaret dancer, with a burlesque influence. Additionally, her movement branches to artistic and jam roller-skating. Outside of dancing, fire spinning, and skating, she constructs artistic images as a model and creative director.
Fire dancing must be practiced with the utmost safety, which is why there must be ample space for the performance. Outdoor safe fire venues include spaces where audience members watch from a distance. Indoor safe fire venues include a space where foot traffic can be held to make space for the performance, and flammable materials such as plants are not in the way. Fire is always performed with a trained fire safety assistant, who knows how to use the fire-retardent duvetyn blanket and fire extinguisher. There must be an available outdoor space where the performer can keep a closed can of fuel in order to prepare fire props before the performance. This 'dipping station' is labeled as a no-smoking area.
