HOW IT ALL STARTED…
Kurt grew up in the small town of Port Jervis, New York about 90 minutes north west of New York City. His family settled in his hometown on the Delaware river in the early 1700’s.
Kurt’s parents Carol and Ross were high school sweethearts. They raised their four children in a home filled with love, music and the arts.
Kurt learned the piano and was part of his school and church’s choirs. He also played keyboards in several bands. Kurt learned photography at an early age apprenticing through a local photographer. His photos were published for several local newspapers. Kurt learned video production through his older brother Ken. Kurt and Ken started producing their own video productions locally. Ken started working at NBC and it wasn’t long after that he got Kurt into NBC as well. Kurt worked nearly 25 years at NBC. 20 years as Camera One for Late Night and The Tonight Show. His credits include Late Night with Conan O’brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live. Kurt received nine Emmy nominations for his camerawork. Throughout the years Kurt continued to love and appreciate music. As luck would have it, one of Kurt’s friends heard him sing Sinatras “Thats Life” and asked him to fly to Las Vegas and perform at a corporate conference. After that moment Kurt was hooked on a new career and began performing Sinatra songs regularly. Kurt was approached by his longtime friend and the owner of the Playwright Tavern Frank Dwyer about starting a residency of Songs of Sinatra. Since then, he has been performing in the Big Apple and meeting people from all over the world.
