No one thing provides more romance, ambiance, intimacy and elegance for a wedding ceremony than the addition of The Shrewsbury String Quartet. We understand how stressful it can be to organize your wedding. We hope that our friendly, helpful approach and our familiarity with the course of events at weddings will help your day run smoothly. Chamber music provides a wonderful background and sets an elegant and romantic mood, allowing for conversation
among guests, requires no amplification, and will enhance both formal and informal occasions.

Biography:

There is very little difference in the sound of most of the professional string quartets that play weddings in the
Philadelphia, South Jersey, Wilmington area. What sets the Shrewsbury String Quartet apart from the others is how easy it is to work with us. One of the most frequent complaints that we hear from brides is how difficult it is to get in contact with some other contract musicians and that it takes an unreasonably long time for some of them to answer emails or return phone calls. We pride ourselves in answering emails and returning phone call immediately. If you do not hear back from us within a few hours, we probably did not get your message so please try again.
We have performed at several hundred weddings and are very familiar with the timing of the music. Other quartets may sound fine, but if they play at the wrong time or do not end the song at the proper time, can cause unnecessary stress for the bride.There are some quartets that will not perform at a Catholic Mass without an organist. The Shrewsbury String Quartet is very familiar with Catholic masses and non-mass ceremonies. We are very comfortable with or without an organist. We get many compliments on the way we sound and we hear from a lot of brides that they appreciate how easy we are to work with.We set up about a half hour before the wedding starts and will begin playing prelude music when your guests start arriving. We will play something special for the mothers and grandmothers to be seated, and processional music for the bride and bridesmaids to walk down the aisle. We can also play special music during the ceremony, for a unity candle lighting, communion, etc. We will then play for the bride and groom to recess from the altar, and postlude music as your guests are leaving. This would cost $675.00 for a quartet, $550.00 for a trio or $425.00 for a duo. If you book us for a ceremony and cocktail hour, the combined fee would be $1175.00 for a quartet, $925.00 for a trio or $675.00 for a duo.
