For my Dad's 80th birthday celebration, the family decided to have a party. And what a party! 108 friends, beautiful weather, great food and clearly the most raved about part of the event, Shelley MacKay. Dad loves jazz and Shelley delivered. Her playlist was extensive, culminating in Dad's personal favorite "Manha de Carnaval". From the preplanning to the party, Shelley was very professional and easy to work with.

A birthday to remember!
We hired Shelley for my father’s 65th birthday party and she truly made it a night to remember. She sounded amazing and her engaging presence drew in everyone there - literally from ages 2 to 92 A duet with the birthday boy was a special highlight. Stephanie plays beautifully and with great energy. These two will take any event from nice to extraordinary.

About
Radiant, acclaimed Bay Area singer, Shelley MacKay, is known for her smooth, honey-like voice that's been described as "liquid gold" and her unique ability to breathe new life into the standards while incorporating contemporary jazz and pop into her repertoire. Shelley would often be found swinging and singing as a young child, where she first discovered her love of expression through song. Thriving on avocados and the scent of seaweed, Shelley can often be found at the beach or consuming sushi.
With over a decade of classical training, Shelley is a graduate of Mills College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She's studied both opera and jazz while harboring a secret love for top 40 pop. Therefore, she sings everything from Ave Maria to Route 66 to Katy Perry’s Firework.
In 2009 Shelley released her debut album, Resolution, to widespread adulation featuring original arrangements of standards and pop covers, including: Where Is The Love, Centerpiece, So Emotional, Desafinado, and You Are The Sunshine of My Life to name a few.
Shelley has recently played local jazz hot spots: Rassela's Jazz Club, The Fairmont San Jose, Zingari Lounge, Martuni’s Piano Bar, Savanna Jazz and Le Colonial and can be seen monthly at Sheba Piano Lounge and Cafe Claude. Shelley has also been featured at: the Betty’s List New Year’s Eve party, the Annual Nordstrom Lingerie Fashion Show, the Oakland Museum of California’s Grand Re-Opening, The Best Actors (in a) Film Festival Gala Reception, and has produced benefit concerts for the Avon Walk and Lyon Martin Health Services.
