What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 240 minutes
Audience members at a Setting Suns gig will experience a range of different flavors. At times the set evokes the feeling of being at a cozy campfire. Other segments in the show offer more of a roadhouse feel. At all times we strive for a set that is thoughtful, authentic and a little unique. The audience will walk away feeling like they saw a band that really cares about the music they're putting forth and didn't just stick to a prescribed formula. Songs that feature the mandolin of which there are many provide a special intimate touch. Using an array of percussion instruments rather than a full drum kit also gives the set an air of subtlety that rounds out the sound beautifully. The audience will undoubtedly see how great a sound can emanate from a stripped down trio. We can be the main attraction for some and just very pleasant soundtrack to a pint and a conversation for others.
Stage/Setup Requirements:
Close proximity to a power source
Additional Notes:
Setting Suns are adaptable. With respect to sound we are happy to use our own equipment or work with the sound system provided by the client. We utilize a PA, mixing board, amp and 3 microphones to project our sound. Minimal lighting not only is not required but rather preferred. Since we are a trio our setup is somewhat compact. This is useful if the event is being held indoors in a residential setting. All we really require is an outlet for a power strip.
