Sadie Hawkins is a multidisciplinary entertainer based in Atlanta, Ga. offering a range of skills, including burlesque, fire and aerial performance. Her aerial and fire performance is charged with a burlesque sensibility, often fusing them into performance art.

Aerial performances can be part of a show – accompanied by live music or other performance – or the aerial work can be eye candy for an event, such as an art opening or a club night. The presentation can range from aerial gogo, to ambient posing, to titillating striptease. Aerial offerings include: Aerial Hoop/Lyra, Dance Lyra/Trapyra, Tippy Lyra, Aerial Net, Sling/Hammock, Aerial Frame, and Improvised/Custom Apparatus (including Stage Sling/Roundsling, Aerial Star/Chandelier, Silks/Trapeze Hybrid, Chains, Aerial Saddle). Additional experience includes Cloud Swing, Silks, Aerial Rope, Trapeze, and Still Rings.

Performing solo or as part of a troupe, fire performance ranges from dancing, to body transfers, to fire eating. Growing fire toolset includes: Fans, Torches, Palm Torches, Floating Orb, Fire Fingers, and Baton. If fire is not permitted in a venue, many comparable glow tools are available. Glow tools include: Fans, Palm Torches, Baton.

Sadie has been participating in Atlanta's burlesque scene since 2004. Burlesque and other specialty performance offerings include: Go-Go Dance, Feather Fan Dance, Chair Dance, Glitter Show, Striptease, Tassel Twirling, Body Paint Model, Figure Model, Living Statue/Tableau, Costumed/Theme Character Mingle.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 15 - 240 minutes

I can be booked for burlesque, aerial and/or fire performance, as well as other specialty entertainment.

Burlesque solo work ranges from gogo dancing to striptease to absurdist vaudeville.

Aerial performances can be part of a show – accompanied by live music or other performance – or the aerial work can be eye candy for an event, such as an art opening or a club night. The presentation can range from aerial gogo, to ambient posing, to titillating striptease. Booking is via set, and will include a rigging/setup fee.

Fire performance ranges from dancing, to body transfers, to fire eating. If fire is not permitted in a venue - or if a glow show is desired, glow tools can be substituted.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
A safe space away from the performance area (for changing, breaks, etc.)
At least 6′ free space around the designated performance spot.
Guest entry for an assistant who will provide safety/security for the performer and/or document the performance.
Water and/or ice

Additional Notes:
Aerial Requirements

* Performer(s) will rig all equipment.
* Exposed rafters or large structural beams that can bear loads of 800 to 1250 lbs. at minimum. ADDITIONAL FEE FOR FREESTANDING RIG RENTAL.
* A ladder/scaffold is needed that reaches the rigging point.If this is unavailable, there must be access to the rigging point from above.
* At least 6′ free space below and around the apparatus.
* A site inspection and a short tech rehearsal to test rigging.
* Access to venue 2 hours prior to event start to rig and prepare for performance.
* Guest entry for an assistant who will provide safety/security for the performer and/or document the performance.


Fire requirements: Engagements require two important and distinct areas: the Performance Area and the Fuel Station. The fuel station should be clearly marked with NO SMOKING signs. Fire tools will be lit within the performance area (or stage). All fuel containers will be located in the fuel station. The fuel used for most fire performances is Coleman Camping Fuel (also known as “white gas” or “naptha”). All fire engagements require an additional Fire Safety (provided by the performer) to monitor the performance and be prepared to act in case of an emergency. Generally, there needs to be a space of 9-10 feet between the performer and the audience and a minimum ceiling height of 12′.
