About
Richmond Cultural Group members perform and demonstrate an array of traditional folk dance and drum that show the influences of various cultural groups throughout West African history and society. The RCG repertoire includes dances from Guinea, Senegal, Mali,and Ivory Coast, all of which give a glimpse of the colorful and vibrant culture of West Africa from the past to the present.
The Richmond Cultural Group, Inc. is an organization established in 2011 for cultural, educational, and entertainment purposes. It is a group whose main goals are to preserve our rich background and promote the appreciation and understanding of the African cultural heritage. We also aim to provide educational scholarships to students in addition to the sponsorship of cultural training workshops in African dance and music for the benefit of the general public.
