Richard Benson is a seasoned musician. Singer, songwriter and entertainer, he has kept alive the spirit of music as a gift that needs to be shared. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, and having lived in states from coast-to-coast, Richard’s style of music has regional flair. He is compared with James Taylor, Eric Clapton, and Dan Fogelberg. From progressive and upbeat enjoyable sounds to soothing and poetic lullabies, Richard has made friends with many genres of music. Best described as enchanting, Richard’s style is sincere and meaningful while being alluring, inspiring and definitely heartfelt! The depth of his vocal abilities spans the musical scale and brings delight to the ears of all his fans. Richard’s phenomenal ability to speak to each of his listeners when delivering lyrics makes all his songs engaging. His fans are not only prompted to reminisce their treasured memories of the past; it is as if they are enlivened by the fact that both time and the past can merge as friends. Richard’s ability to articulate the words is only surpassed by his ability to sing each note from a deep and impassioned place within his heart. Not only expert at the art of coupling melody with word, Richard commands the guitar to dance with precision and perfect movement; caresses the keys of a piano with expertise; and makes the drums scream for more!

What to Expect

One could expect singing and music which caters to the climate of the occasion. Generally I am a happy, upbeat, dynamic and humorous performer who elicits input from the audience about what they want to hear.
