RUDE AND BROKE MY DAUGHTER'S HEART

rating starrating starrating starrating starrating star

Corporate EventI am writing this review in regards to your pony rides that you had set up at the West Wind Drive-In Theaters in Las Vegas on April 25, 2013, and to inform you of your staff's deplorable performance there.

My daughter is four years old. When she heard there would be pony rides at this event, she immediately ran and got her pink cowgirl hat and wore it all day in anticipation. We got there a little late, and by the time we got in line, we knew we were going to be one of the last in line before the movies started.

I will first mention that while waiting in line, I noticed that your white pony rarely had a rider on it, and that it seemed very skittish. I can understand that horses can be spooked by large crowds, especially crowds of loud boisterous children, but I would venture a suggestion that perhaps that is not a pony that is ready to be brought to high volume events.

Secondly, we finally got to the front of the line. You had two horse handlers there, one was an older blonde lady, and the other was a young brunette. We were ready to go, and the brunette had me hold my daughter's cowgirl hat, and had put the helmet on her. As she was just about to lift her up into the saddle, the blonde woman starts yelling at the brunette in an incredibly rude tone, "NO! THAT'S IT! WE'RE DONE!!" and proceeds to storm off with the other two horses. The brunette seemed bewildered and had no idea what to say, so she took the helmet off my little girl and said to me, "Oh, sorry. But take one of our cards and have us out to her birthday party..." I asked if I could at least get a picture of my daughter with the pony, and she said if I made it quick. I snapped a photo, but it was worthless because my daughter was fighting back tears.

My little girl is four. She is a pony lover. Her room is all decorated in horses, she has every My Little Pony ever made, and it is her favorite show. She has seen horses before, but this was her first chance to actually ride a pony. To have her get so close to getting on, and then to be yelled at angrily by that woman, just absolutely broke her heart. She cried most of the night because of it. She kept asking me why that lady was so mean to her and wouldn't let her have a turn after she had waited in line patiently like a good girl. She is FOUR. There were other children waiting in line as well that were brushed off angrily without any warning.

I work in party entertainment. I am a professional face painter and I own McKenna Artistry. I understand what it is like to work a big event with lots of kids. And I also know the art of customer service. A little smile would have gone a long way last night. A little compassion would have too. And a little knowledge to be wise enough to know that time is almost up and that the line needed to be cut would have as well. When it gets close to closing time, you should address the crowd/line and let them know that you only have a few minutes left, and that you are sorry but cannot take any more riders. Then finish up who has already been waiting in line, and then leave. You should never let a child get a hair's breath away from a ride and then yell at them.

The performance by the blonde woman last night was shameful. I have often recommended your company in the past when I have clients call and ask about petting zoos and pony rides. I can guarantee you that that will not happen again in the future. You should have a serious talk with this employee and perhaps some training is in order. Perhaps working with children is not the right job for her, as she came off as rude and heartless. If she was my employee and I had witnessed that last night, she would have been fired on the spot. She should be ashamed of herself for taking her frustration out on a poor little girl. She broke my daughter's heart last night, and I cannot tell you how angry and upset that has made me feel. Just absolutely shameful. A child should never be made to feel that way by someone in our profession!

Response from Pony Party Time:
It is shamefull that companys who provide entertainment for events inwhich is free, and someone has to try to ruin it for everyone else. This makes us wonder if our company will ever want to participate in another charity or fundraiser event again, as cleary not everyone is as appreciative of the dedication, hard work, sweat and time that goes into each event.

Just like McDonalds, who refuses to provide FREE FOOD for the homeless, Because they have to be afraid of a lawsuit as someone may "claim" that they were poisoned by the food. This only hurts every homeless man and woman out there. This is truely sad.

thank you. www.ponypartytime.com
