I have seen Pickles Da Clown in action at the Plaza Fiesta in Fort Mill, SC. She talks to every child on her balloon line. She made the most amazing balloon for my granddaughter! I have never seen balloons like she makes! Then I saw her the weekend of Valentine's at Plaza Fiesta , but this time she was dressed as cupid. I didn't know it was her until I heard her talking to some of the children while she handed out candy. I asked her if she was Pickles and she said, "yes, but sometimes I amaze myself!" She is funny, quick witted and absolutely SWEET to every person she meets! I can't wait to be able to hire her for my granddaughter's birthday party!

Pickles at St. Patrick's Day
Pickles Da Clown participated in the St. Pat's Day on Main Festival for 2011 and was a great addition to the event. Pickles is very thorough and professional, not only for the event, but for planning leading up to the event. During the event, it was clear that Pickles is well known in the Rock Hill area and drew a healthy crowd during the entire event to her location. I recommend that if you are looking for entertainment for children that you let Pickles be a part of your event. I know we will be inviting her back in 2012.

About
Barbara is the creator of Pickles Da Clown. She is also known as The Puppetlady and Balloon Chick. She has been entertaining children for thirty years. She is an accomplished seamstress thanks to her mother and grandmother showing her how to sew when she was five. She designs and sews all of Pickles and Balloon Chick's costumes. Barbara was born, the youngest of six children, and raised in Middletown, NY located in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley. At the age of thirteen Barbara realized how much she cared about children. She became involved with puppets, acting and singing through church. She has taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, directed Children's Choir, Drama, Puppet and Clown Ministries. In high school, Barbara was in several school productions including The Sound of Music. She also made most of the costumes for Once Upon A Mattress. Barbara has also written several plays and skits over the years for church productions. Her comedy icebreaker skits were always a hit at the women's retreats for her church in NY. She came up with a fractured fairytale that was completely scripted in rhyme. It left the ladies with tears running down their cheeks from laughing so hard.
In 1995 Barbara got involved with directing a puppet ministry. In 1996 she had the chance to take classes with veteran Muppet builder, David Pannabecker. She started her own puppet company, Puppetlady Productions, and proceeded to sell hundreds of puppets around the world. She also directed a traveling puppet ministry, Promise Ministries Crusaders, with teens from three churches in Hudson Valley area involved. Her team traveled throughout Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, to mention a few, with rave reviews.
Barbara has one son, Jason, 26, is a special effects makeup artist and independent filmmaker. He has created special effects props and make up for NYU film students. He hopes to one day be recognized for his work and end up in a major motion picture. Jason lives in NY. Barbara's husband, Pete, is an artist, airbrush artist and motorcycle technician.
In the summer of 2008, Barbara moved to Rock Hill, SC. Barbara has taught classes for One Way Street , Inc. at their Regional Puppet Festivals. Barbara is getting well-known around the Charlotte Metro area for Pickles Da Clown and her UNUSUAL & AWESOME balloon twisting skills.
Barbara is renowned to her friends as outspoken, fearless, quick witted, artistic and a wee bit eccentric. Pulling all of these quirky virtues together, along with her love for children she created Pickles Da Clown. Friends call her the female version of Mr. Rogers because of her nurturing nature.

We have several talented artists on staff that face paint...full face and cheek art...glitter tattoo artists...we have actors that impersonate celebrity character look-a-likes such as...Belle, Ariel The Little Mermaid, Princess Jasmine, Esmerelda, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell, Strawberry Shortcake, Princess Tiana, Minnie Mouse, Mario & Luigi...fairies, pirates and lots of other exciting characters. We do not use mascot costumes because they are intimidating to young children. All of our characters are live actors in costumes that are hand made by the owner of Pickles Da Clown Entertainment...Barbara Emery. We offer comedy magic shows, incredible balloon twisting, face painting, glitter tattoos and so much more! We also create balloon decor for weddings, parties and all types of events!
