PHAZE II has been providing the Smooth Jazz sounds on the local
scene in Washington, DC by honing its craft of delivering quality music to its fans. PHAZE II has embarked on a journey that shows the world the many talents that the extraordinary members of the jazz band possess. In 2001, PHAZE II released its first CD entitled, Options, which Smooth Jazz 105.9 radio personality, Al Santos, described as a very credible debut CD. Soul Child’s, Half Crazy, will surely put you in a melodious mood. Determined to broaden their vision, PHAZE II entered the 13th Annual Capital Jazz Festival 2005, Capital Jazz Challenge. This competition was sponsored by Washington DC’s Smooth Jazz 105.9 and Baltimore, Maryland’s Smooth Jazz 104.3. The final contest consisted of 6 bands chosen from 600 band entries.
The winner was awarded a monetary prize and had the opportunity to open the following day on the Capital Jazz Festival’s main stage. Thousands of Capital Jazz Fest fans endured the heat as they cheered for their favorite band. Anxiety fell upon the bands and the fans during this announcement: WINNER OF THE 2005 CAPITAL JAZZ FESTIVAL IS .... PHAZE II!
PHAZE II gave a memorable performance at the 2006 Capital Jazz Festival alongside other national acts at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. This jazz ensemble has been fortunate to grace the stages of Smooth Jazz artists such as Walter Beasely, Ken Navarro, Jimmy Sommers, Jeff Golub and Rob Malatick, to name a few. This entire experience is an opportunity of a lifetime for all of the talented members of this band.

Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 90 minutes

Drummer: 5 Peice Pearl Drum Set and Hardware
Bass Player: 4x10 Bass Rig including amp and speakers
Guitar Player: Fender Twin Amp
Sax Player: Wireless Microphone
Keyboard Player: 2 Keyboards and Roland amp
An indoor or outdoor event rider may be required by the band due to various technical arrangements of venues. PHAZE II requires 1 to 2 hours to set-up and 1 to 2 hours to breakdown and load equipment.
