Patrick Duffy

Patrick studied music at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and graduated in 2010. Since that time he has performed as a session musician and as a live performer. He will be appearing as the keyboard player on the upcoming album "This is American Royalty" penned by progressive rock band College Point from the town of the same name in Queens, New York.

He began playing the piano at the age of 12 after watching the movie "Great Balls of Fire" and was largely self taught until he went to Hartwick where he studied with local piano master Kim Patersen. Patrick plays by ear as well as reads music and began teaching himself to play by listening to recordings of Billy Joel and Elton John. He enjoys playing many different genres and styles of music and has performed in various jazz groups, his favorite being "3 of 5" with bassist M.W. Degan and drummer Scott Weber playing funky versions of jazz standards and classic rock hits.

As a solo performer Patrick has entertained many crowds with his rendition of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" (harmonica included), Elton John's "Crocodile Rock" and various Beatles songs. His repertoire is ever growing and consists of songs by Frankie Valli, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, The Beatles, Train, Coldplay, various jazz standards, and classical works. Patrick is able to interact often with his crowd, engaging and including them in the performance by changing lyrics and encouraging singing along while he plays.

He displays professionalism, shows respect, dresses appropriately, and shows up early to ensure equipment is set up and functioning properly.

Patrick has an extensive background in music technology being savvy in Finale and Sibelius music notation software, Pro Tools recording software and hardware, and the "ins and outs" of setting up a sound system for live and studio performances. He always travels with his own gear which includes:

Nord Electro 3 Synthesizer
Casio Privia Electric Piano
Roland KC-350 Keyboard Amplifier
Shure SM-58 Microphone

Patrick is very easy to get along with and is always willing to work with an event planner to make sure things run as smooth as possible.
