I am a saxophone player in the Orange County and LA area and am available to play at a variety of occasions including parties, receptions, weddings, church services, or any other event where you would like to add quality music. My performance can include anything from classical, pop, latin to tunes from the American Songbook and many other styles. My act includes exciting backing tracks for accompaniment. Nathan offers an exciting and flexible show with his sweet sound on various instruments including saxophones, flute and clarinet that are accompanied by backing track. He can produce anything from soothing background music to an exciting one-man show of jazz, pop, rock, latin and more! Perfect for a cocktail party, wedding reception, house party or any other event that needs the spark of live music.
Nathan is also classically trained and can be hired to play at formal ceremonies as a soloist or with an ensemble. He also has his own group that he performs with regularly.
Nathan King is a woodwind player in the Orange County and LA area. He has studied with great musicians such as Gary Foster, Dan St. Marseille, Jeff Ellwood, James Rotter, Chris Bartz, Doug Masek, Harry Allen, Bob Sheppard. He has played under names such as Bob Mintzer, Bill Cunliffe, John Carnahan, Robert Reynolds, Frank Ticheli and many others. Nathan also has education in music theory and improvisation from top musicians and professors at the Idyllwild Summer Arts Workshop and the CSU Summer Arts Saxophone Workshop. His quartet has played at jazz venues including the Catalina Jazz Club. They were also selected as one of four finalists to play at the Blue Whale for the Angel City Jazz Young Artist Award. Nathan is also a member of the Atlus Swung Quintet and Doxoloagia, a hispanic praise group. Most recently, he was selected as a part of the Disneyland All-American College Band as well as awarded top saxophonist of the 2016 Reno Jazz Festival.
He has been a teacher of woodwinds, music theory and jazz improvisation for a number of years in the Southern California area both privately and through local schools including the Orange County School of the Arts. Nathan has a Bachelors of Music in Saxophone Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies from California State University, Fullerton.
