We didn’t see the weather coming! Wind, rain, and mud were the words of the day. But Cydney faced the elements and played beautifully. She set the tone for the wedding. She set the tone for the day. The wedding was beautiful despite the elements. Our day was overflowing with love and joy! Thank you Cydney!!!

What to Expect
I want people to see me as the type of musician that can show them of what music can do for them such as using self-expression and letting them being in a peaceful state of mind. I also would like for them to know of what music has done for me.
About
Cydney Williams is an American musician. She started playing the viola when she was eleven years old. Throughout the years, Cydney performed in many settings around the community. She performed in school orchestras, chamber ensembles, competitions, school district orchestras, regional orchestras, music workshops, summer music camps, clinics, recitals, festivals, churches, and volunteered in performing in community youth orchestras as an undergraduate.
In the Spring Semester of 2007, Cydney and her classmates went on a field trip to see a a youth orchestra performance. There was one additional notice about the field trip. One of her classmates was a cellist and played in the orchestra. Ever since she saw the performance, she started to have a general feeling in wanting to try to play an instrument. She decided to try to play an instrument. Cydney told my mom that she was interested in playing in the orchestra. Her mother, Tina Williams, suggested her that she should play the viola. Cydney met her first orchestra teacher, Wendy Adams during open house at South View Middle School. By the time she started playing the viola, it became the start of her musical journey.
Throughout her middle school years, Cydney Williams had a wonderful start in playing in the orchestra. She had her first experience in playing in the school orchestra and playing in the Spring Music Festival. As a first-year orchestra student, Cydney was discovered that she has perfect pitch. Her orchestra teacher, Wendy Adams took her to the choir room to test her knowledge in identifying notes. The chorus teacher played different notes that she has never played on her viola. The teachers were amazed of her knowledge in identifying pitches. In the summer of 2008, Cydney Williams participated in the Summer Music Workshop. She continued to perform in the program throughout her middle school years. In her seventh and eighth grade year, Cydney and her classmates took a trip to East Carolina University and performed in a Solo and Chamber Ensemble. The first time she performed in the Solo and Chamber Ensemble was in a duet with a score of Excellent. The second time she performed as a soloist with a score of Superior. Cydney also had the experience in performing twice in an orchestra with her classmates for a competition, which the students received the scores of an Excellent. After middle school, she took the next step as a musician.
In the summer of 2010, Cydney Williams met her first private lesson teacher, Steve Kamradt at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. Steve Kamradt helped Cydney gain more experience in playing the viola. He taught her different challenges on etudes, repertoires, and techniques. During the times as his student, Steve asked Cydney if she wanted to participate performing in the Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Youth Orchestra. Cydney was excited to play in the Snyder Youth Orchestra. She started played in the Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Youth Orchestra. She also had her first viola recital in the fall of 2010.
During the years 2010-2014, Cydney attended South View High School and met her high school orchestra teacher, Jennifer Watkins. Jennifer Watkins suggested Cydney that she should audition for the Junior Eastern Regional Orchestra. In March of 2011, she auditioned and got accepted to play in the orchestra. Cydney Williams played in the Junior Eastern Regional Orchestra in May of 2011. In the summer of 2011, she participated in the Methodist Summer Jam Music Camp. She participated for two years. During her tenth through her twelfth-grade year, Cydney started playing in school district and youth regional orchestras. She performed in the Cumberland County Youth Orchestra (CCYO), All County Youth Orchestra, and in the Senior Regional Youth Orchestra. In the summer of 2013, Cydney Williams met her chamber coach, Ra Sejung for the Summer Youth Chamber Music. Cydney graduated from South View High School in 2014.
In August of 2014, Cydney Williams attended at Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) to study music. During the Spring Semester of 2015, Cydney performed with her classmates on contemporary music with her viola and for voice. During the spring semester, she auditioned and got accepted at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). She also volunteered in performing in the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Fayetteville Youth Chamber Strings, and performed in the Fayetteville Chamber Strings Orchestra. Cydney Williams transferred and studied Music at UNCP. Throughout her times as a university student, Cydney performed in the orchestra, recitals, and chamber ensembles. She graduated with the degree of Bachelor’s of Arts in Music in the Spring Semester of 2019.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with the degree of Bachelor’s of Arts in Music in the spring semester of 2019, Cydney Williams performed in the Fayetteville Chamber Orchestra. In winter of 2020, Cydney got accepted into graduate school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is now looking forward to pursue her Master’s Degree in the Spring Semester of 2022. Her future plans are to perform in a well-known symphonic orchestra and a chamber ensemble. She also plans to teach privately on the viola, coach a small string ensemble, and teach basic music theory to younger students.
