Melissa Marie has home bases in both New York and Chicago but performs world wide offering work as a solo artist, as well as custom designing full circus packages. Her career circles the globe with performances on 4 continents. Melissa Marie discovered the circus after a traditional performance career that began with Disney & led to the stages of London & Japan. Whether gliding through the air, breathing fire, or cracking a bullwhip, 20 years of dance informs her balletic style. Newspapers describ her work as “mind-boggling”both “beautiful & sensual.” Clients include Macy’s, Zurich International, Diageo, United Airlines & private families across the US.

No rigging? No problem! Her adjustable, free standing, portable rig allows for rigging indoors or out.

Influences

I was raised in by a teacher and a scientist who loved history, and began life as an entertainer at age 6. As a result, my influences span time and disciplines. From Shakespeare to Cirque du Soleil, Elizabeth Streb to the Joffrey Ballet, Butoh to Barnum and Bailey, I believe engaging your audience with flawless showmanship and execution is key to a memorable show.

Individual acts can last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, and may be performed consecutively or as individual features to blend seamlessly with your event. She loves interacting with her audience, especially with children on an educational level. Melissa Marie's repertoire is vast. By tailoring choreography, costumes, music, and characters her work adjusts from school science day to late night bachelor party. Raised by a seamstress, her custom costume pricing can't be beat.

With many skills and acts from which to choose, technical requirements are quite flexible from event to event, venue to venue.

For those seeking aerial, I perform in venues with ceiling as low as 10 feet. Indoors or out her portable rig is completely freestanding. In other words: it does not drill into, tie down to, attach to your venue in any way. Quite simply it sits on your venue the same way a table or chair would. Rubber feet protect your grass or floor. The unique pyramid design allows aerial to thrill your guests without disturbing elaborate lighting plots or expensive chandeliers. The rig is adjustable from 14-22' and has been in museums, historic sites, golf courses, parks, hotels, convention halls and back yards across North America and Europe.
