Once in a while, a recording artist comes along with a style so unique and captivating that he stands out from the crowd. St. Louis is home of such an artist. His name is Mauti (pronounced like the Hawaiian island Maui w/ a T). Mauti was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He started singing at the age of 6 years old from his mother's lap for her friends for 25 cents per song. Over the years Mauti, a former Marine, has shown his multiple styles (singing or rapping) opening for everyone from national recording artists such as OutKast, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, E-40, Johnny Taylor, Fabu, Heatwave, Nuttin Nice, Chi Lites, Spice 1, and Dennis Edwards (former lead singer of the Temptations). Craig Mack, Old Skool, Bone Thugz, Alex Bugnon, Gregg Haynes, Quartet Tres Bien.

Mauti, a natural balladeer, started rapping in 1989 and added the art of Hip Hop to his repertoire and became a force in the rap game in 1994, when he was inducted into the Funk Monks (Bush Docta, Anthony "T-Rex" Gerald, DJ Hydroponik Sno, Shaun "Nickel Dyme" Anthony (May He Rest In Peace), K. Swiff and Tony B. from the Walnut Park Crew.

As a solo vocalist Mauti released his debut CD entitled Full Moon and is looking for every opportunity to showcase his smooth brand of R&B and hip-hop. His silky voice caresses the ears with a cool and charismatic melody.

Mauti commands attention without singing. He stands six feet and one inch tall, and his dark reddish skin shows Indian and African ancestry. But make no mistake - Mauti declares that he's not trying to be a sex symbol or the center of attention. While he is modest and spiritually grounded, he endearingly admits that everyone who has heard him sing has been waiting on this cd.

He sings smooth music that you can feel. Women and male romantics alike can appreciate his loving, passionate and selfless lyrics, written exclusively by himself. He specializes in lyrics. There is truth in everything he writes, and he has lived through every one of his songs
