Overview

Saxophonist Mark McKenzie moved to Baltimore in 2025 after many years on the Dallas, Texas, music scene. Whether in a trio (sax-bass-drums), quartet (sax-piano-bass-drums), or duo (sax-piano or sax-guitar), Mark's music is rooted in the classic straight-ahead jazz of the 1950s and 60s. A typical set includes standards from the Great American Songbook (Kern, Rogers & Hart, Mancini), time-tested tunes from jazz greats (Ellington, Coltrane, Brubeck), and the occasional modern pop cover (Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen). Mark's groups held down regular gigs in Dallas venues and played corporate events, private parties, wedding receptions, restaurants, wine bars and nightclubs.

Awesome!!!

We booked the Mark McKenzie Quartet for our wedding and they did not disappoint. They were extremely polite and professional and provided great live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour for an awesome price. Well worth it and I would recommend them to anyone looking for live music at their wedding.
