My major influences have been singer/songwriters of the last fifty years. However, most of my original material is very contemporary. I cover anything from Taylor Swift, to Michael Jackson, to Sheryl Crow, adding my own flavors, of course.
For Lindsay Will, a small town girl from Springdale, Arkansas, her music journey began at the age of 9 when she first picked up a guitar. Music wasn’t always her first priority, but it was something that she loved and she continued to take guitar and voice lessons throughout her school career. Writing was another passion of hers. It began with poems and short stories, then expanded to songs.
Will hit a turning point when she was thirteen. Her guitar teacher began to invite her to perform with him at local festivals and restaurants. Lindsay discovered a love for being on stage and she realized that music was what she wanted to pursue instead of sports. In June of 2011, she made her first trip to Nashville, TN. After performing at multiple venues such as Hotel Indigo, The Nashville Palace, and The Commodore Grille, she knew that Nashville was where she needed to be.
In June of 2013, Will recorded her first EP album in Nashville with producer and friend, Billy Dawson. The album includes three songs, each co-written by Will. “The beginning plan was just to record my first single,” Will states, “but as the week went on, I had two more co-writes and the sessions were very successful. Some incredible songs came out of them. We made the decision to go ahead and record an EP album.” The album was released on January 2014 on iTunes and all streaming services, followed by a music video to the leading single, “With My Eyes Closed.” Will edited the music video and received a 2014 Mid-American Emmy Award for Music Video Editing Demonstration.
Fast-forward two years and several trips to Nashville later; Will finally calls the city her home. She attends Middle Tennessee State University where she is majoring in music business. She continues to perform around Nashville and all over the South. Will continues to grow her knowledge of the industry by being involved in CMA Edu and GrammyU on campus. She is also a member of BMI.
Will continues to write, perform, and pursue her dream of being an artist. “The best feeling in the world is when someone tells me that they relate to my songs,” she says, “because that’s when I know that I am achieving my goal and impacting someone’s life”. No matter where life takes her, she wants to pursue a career in the music industry. For now, she is working hard to gain as much experience and knowledge as she can and continues to make her mark on the music industry.
Technical requirements are simple. I can provide my own sound gear for an additional fee.
