Gospel Music is more than just notes and keys. It’s a Spirit led praise that comes from the soul. It’s a music that moves the heart and lives in the blood. In 1958 Matthew Jones, inspired by his mother, began with a small quartet called the Evening Stars founded a year earlier by his brother. Matthew wrote and rearranged Gospel music and for more than forty years sang, played piano, and guitar throughout the south – all without a single lesson. The Evening Stars shared stages with renowned artists like the Soul Stirrers, the Mighty Clouds of Joy, the Jackson Southernaires, and Willie Banks and the Messengers.

Little did Matthew know that three generations later his granddaughters would continue his gospel music legacy by starting a group called Joyful Noize. With music in their blood and born to sing, the sister trio knew they had been given a gift from God, passed down through family.

Over ten years ago Guielle, Patria, and Marisa answered that all too familiar call on their lives to praise God through soulful music that has always been a part of their family. Like a torch passed down, the trio has been singing at churches, concerts, and televised events like the Bobby Jones Gospel Show.

In the footsteps of their grandfather, Joyful Noize has shared stages with contemporary Gospel greats like J.Moss, Richard Smallwood, Byron Cage, Maurette Brown-Clark, Martha Munizzi, Lexi, Dave Hollister, 21:13 and others.

Knowing they’re standing on the shoulders of giants, the girls weren’t satisfied with just singing praises to God; they needed to serve the Lord in another capacity. In 2007 Joyful Noize started a non-profit organization called “Kidz 4 Kidz, Inc.” that joins other extraordinarily talented children who want to use their gifts for God to improve the lives of children who have medical challenges or who struggle in low-income and abusive environments. To date Kidz 4 Kidz, Inc. has raised over $11,000 to help children in their community.

In 2009 Joyful Noize celebrated their debut album “The Path” which was nominated for 4 awards by the South Florida Gospel Music Academy.
