About

The Julie Lyon Quartet is a dynamic, swinging, improvisational jazz quartet that was formed in 2003 when Julie Lyon joined forces with The Tom Cabrera Trio. The members of the group come from a variety of jazz backgrounds, Tom (drums)coming from the hard hitting New York scene, Larry (bass)from the blues-tinged jazz of Chicago, Scott (Piano) from Denver bringing west coast jazz influences and Julie (vocals) bringing her rich background in blues and rock to the table. This combination of diverse backgrounds makes for an interesting and unique band that never fails to excite and entertain. They have a passion for the history and art of jazz that is reflected in their musical style and their arrangements and at the same time are always looking for ways to bring something new.

The Julie Lyon Quartet is a swinging, dynamic inprovizational jazz quartet. Their music harkens back to the jazz era of the 30s, 40s and 50s but with modern interpretations and arrangements making them both timeless and innovative. They bring to each performance a great passion for their music guided by Julie's soulful interpretation of the lyric and the irresistible groove laid down by the masterful rhythm section. They are intimately aware of the needs of their clients and pride themselves on their ability to tailor their performance to meet the client's needs. For private events and corporate parties with a more subdued atmosphere they are quiet enough for conversation, yet lively enough to keep the party hopping. For concerts and festivals they will delight and entertain you from the first note to the last. The Julie Lyon Quartet provides accessible, entertaining music for everyong.
