Jacob Lamb was born in Independence, MO in 1990. He began studying music at the age of 3. Once completing the 8th grade, his family moved to Lexington, MO, where he continued his musical studies. While in high school, Jacob was selected to participate in the Missouri All-State Honor Band and Orchestra, the Kansas City Youth Symphony, the Kansas Nebraska Iowa Missouri Four-State Honor Band, the West Central District Honor Band, the UCM Honor Wind Symposium and the Missouri River Valley Conference Honor Band, often performing as the Principal Flutist. In addition, he also participated with the West Central District Honor Choir, earned Superior "1" ratings on his solos at the Missouri State level music competitions and was a 2007 Missouri Fine Arts Academy graduate.
Once he graduated LHS in 2008, he attended Drury University (Springfield, MO) and the University of Central Missouri (Warrensburg, MO), where he studied flute, piccolo and vocal performance, as well as Music Administration. While in college, Jacob had the extremely high honor of performing in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield Drury Civic Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks, the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra and the Marshall Philharmonic. He was Principal Flute in all college ensembles, in addition to singing with the Springfield Regional Chorus and the Warrensburg Community Choir. Jacob also studied clarinet, oboe, bassoon and saxophone. He graduated in the Fall of 2011 with a degree in Arts Administration and a minor in music performance.
Currently, Jacob is Founder, Executive Director and Principal Flute/Piccolo for the Lexington Wind Symphony and sings Baritone with The Chorus of Friends in Lexington, MO. He maintains a private studio of 16 students, teaching all woodwinds and voice. He is also a frequent performer with the Heritage Philharmonic, the Warrensburg Community Band, Warrensburg Community Chorus and the Spirit of Independence Concert Band. If this doesn't seem like enough, he is also a part-time 9-1-1 dispatcher for Ray County in Richmond, MO. In his spare time (what little he has), he loves spending time with his family and friends and absolutely adores his 7 cats Ninji, Pixie, Mommy, Elvie, Jackie, Jilly and Munchy, as well as his 4 dogs Scout, Skittles, Sparky and Chi Chi.
