I’ve had extensive training in acting, clowning, and dance, and as Hamlet the Clown I’ve enjoyed a twenty year career as a professional entertainer. Of the myriad of festivals and special events I’ve participated in, highlights for me include: Expo ’86, the Calgary Olympic Festival, the Edmonton Street Performers’ Festival, the Calgary and Edmonton First Night Festivals, and the Calgary Winter Festival. From 1984 - 86 I performed in Alberta schools and I have taught workshops in clowning, juggling, and acting, both for the school system and the community. For ten years I taught curriculum using drama to students in the Calgary school system through program sponsored by Calgary Arts Partners in Education until it dissolved in 2008. Presently I teach playwriting to Alberta junior high school students and poetry to grades four to six under the Artist in Schools Residency Program funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, as well as teaching for the Epcor Centre for Performing Arts.

ROVING CHARACTER

cocktail party? Walk-about is Hamlet the Clown’s fort. He is a consummate roving
performer and this act is the perfect ingredient to warm up a crowd, add colour to a large
function, or give your special event a festival atmosphere. Hamlet is the ideal strolling
character for all occasions, with a capacity to entertain 500 people per hour. His roving
antics include: juggling, mimicry, crowd control, music and short shows any of which can
happen at the drop of a scarf, and boy can this clown dance!

SHOW - HAMLET LETS LOOSE
This show is a serious tragedy about a clown. The story centers around what happens when you let a hyper-tense clown like Hamlet loose. Full of frivolous hijinks this half hour show includes mime, mimicry, pin and ball juggling, hat manipulation, gymnastics, clown magic, follow-the-leader, and plenty of audience participation. HAMLET LETS LOOSE is a thirty minute show, perfect for family audiences and is suitable for outdoor performance
