About
I’m Joseph Liberti, known to my friends and fans as FluteDaddy. At heart, I’m a jazz singer and I think I fell in love with the flute because playing it is an experience that is closest to singing the human voice. I also love the creative expression jazz of jazz improvisation.
I love all kinds of jazz from bop to Bossa Nova to blues, and from freestyle jazz to funk, and all of that shows up in my playing. What I love most are lyrical tunes played with creativity and passion. I play flute in a soulful voice and let the flute sing from my heart.
In performance I play both C flute (“standard size”) and the alto flute which has a deeper and more textured voice, with a rhythm section of jazz masters on piano or guitar, bass and drums and/or percussion. Most of my performances are for special events or in a jazz concert setting.
We help you make your event better with great music and also with great support. We can help you plan the music and include special songs. We can help market your event with flyers, posters, Internet advertising and promotion, email newsletters, PR releases and local promotion.

Influences
All kinds of music influence our style from classical to blues. Our style is modern and sometimes similar to the music of contemporary bands and artists like Dave Grusin or Lee Ritenauer. joseph's flute stylings have been influenced by flutists like Herbie Mann, Dave Valentin, Hubert Laws, Sam Most, Moe Koffman, Ali Ryerson, Lori Bell and James Moody.

Relax into a Henry Mancini song like Dreamsville, grin and groove with a FluteDaddy take on a Latin funk Michael Franks tune like Say Bwana He No Home, or enjoy a jazz standard like Good Morning Heartache performed in a a contemporary R&B ballad style.
For special events, receptions, openings etc, FluteDaddy music provides a background that is interesting and entertaining, lovely, subtle and not intrusive. And, when it’s time to turn up the energy, FluteDaddy can boost the excitement with some compelling jazz.
