About Flattop Tom And His Jump Cats
Flattop Tom & his Jump Cats are a versatile eight piece band that has been playing classic Big Band style, West Coast Jump Blues, Blues, Jump Jive, Boogie Woogie, Rockabilly, and 40s & 50s Rhythm & Blues since 1992.
Members of this high energy band are all very talented musicians dedicated to keeping traditional Swing & Blues alive. An accomplished swing dancer, Flattop Tom prides himself in playing dance-able tunes regardless of the genre.

Biography:
Flattop Tom has been playing the national and local West Coast Blues scene since 1992. He has been officially sponsored by Hohner Harmonicas since 1994. Flattop is one of the top harmonica players on the West Coast today. He regularly competes in blues harmonica shows, i.e., Blues Harp Blowdown at the House of Blues and the Battle of the Blue Harps Long Beach. Festivals, club gigs and corporate parties keep the band busy most of the year.
Flattop plays all styles of Blues including Chicago, West Coast Jump, Delta, Texas, Piedmont, and 1940s and 50s Swing Blues.
In addition to headlining his own shows, Flattop has been on bills with top Blues acts such as William Clarke, Billyboy Arnold, Rod Piazza, James Harman, Carey Bell, John Hammond, Mark Humel and Joe Louis Walker, to name a few.
Flattop Tom is a disciple of the late, great William Clarke. They became friends early in Tom's music career and they did many shows together.In addition to playing straight up Blues, Flattop Tom and his Jump Cats love to play Jump Blues and Swing. Some fans have likened them to a West Coast version of Roomful of Blues.
