Overview

About

The World Famous Disc-Connected K9s Frisbee Dog Team, (from Jacksonville, FL) are an internationally acclaimed professional Frisbee dog touring show comprised of some of the best Frisbee dogs on the planet (including the 2008 & 2010 World Frisbee Dog Champions & 8 other different World Finalist Dogs). Our team has literally performed all over the world in the past fifteen years at all types of events; everything from State & County Fairs, NFL, NBA & MSL Games, Art & Music Festivals, Company Picnics, Theme Festivals, Special Events, Community Celebrations, Balloon Festivals, Animal Benefiting Fund Raisers, to national and international television appearances. (Including David Letterman, Jay Leno, Kathy & Regis, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, ESPN, Good Morning America, etc...)

Our shows are family oriented; carry a message of fun, athleticism, canine bonding, and promote dog rescuing. All of our routines are choreographed to music, defy the normal relationship between man and canine; and leave even the oldest of children with a smile on their face and in their heart. Our shows can be customized to the audience and/or time frame available (though our normal time span is 30-35 minutes per show) We promise you will have your spectators laughing and clapping in awe at the tricks these dogs perform.

In the past we have performed in Paris, France; Santiago, Chile; Caracas, Venezuela; Acapulco, Mexico; Toronto, Canada; Bogota, Columbia; Amsterdam, Holland; and just about every state in the US. You may have also seen us on The Discovery Channel's "Animal Attractions" (www.animalattractionstv.com) where we are currently being highlighted in the "Pet Tales" section of episode #108, or any of the other 7,500 shows we have performed. Over 73% of our business each year is repeat business, (with some events having us back for up to ten and eleven years running) which is a testament to our level of entertainment and professionalism.

We have over 100 references from event organizers from across the country and around the world that will be willing to attest to our level of entertainment and value to their events. Just let us know and we will put you in contact with them personally.

Our appearance fees are negotiable, meaning that no venue is too large, or too small. We will be more then glad to fit our show into your budget.

We are a 100% self-contained grounds act that travels and lives in our customized motor home, are fully insured and are USDA complient.

Influences

Not many since we are the longest performing and competing act of it's nature in the world; 42 years. We typically set the standard for the few other acts out there emulating what the Disc-Connected K9s do world wide.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 20 - 35 minutes

Our shows typically last 30 minutes and involves a minimum of three dogs per show. Almost every one of our dogs are World Frisbee Dog Championship Finalist and two of them are actually the 2008 & 2010 World Frisbee Dog Champions. Each dog performs for 3-5 minutes. Introductions on each dog, as they are all rescued dogs and their achieved titles and accomplishments to date are provided. All the dogs do "freestyle" routines, meaning they all catch discs jumping off our backs, chests, feet shoulders; they do standing back flips while catching discs, rund and jump, turn and it is all choreographed to music. We do audience participation (i.e. Harley Knievel) demonstrate how to get your dog started in the sport, expound upon the importance of rescuing animals, and speak about safety with dogs outside of our homes. Our show is not a "children's show", it is a family show and the talking points and humor are geared toward the entire family. We also do a meet and greet with the human and canine show members after each show and afford the opportunity to take pictures (free with your own camera or camera phone) pet the dogs and even throw a Frisbee or two for the dogs.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
We are 100& self-contained and only ask for electricity for our motor home, performance trailer and sound system where applicable. We can generate our own electricity but this requires our running our own generators and this incurs an additional cost to t

Additional Notes:
Optimal performance area is a 45ft x 90ft level grass, obstruction free environment; uneven terrain, rocks, trees, and other obstructions are hazardous to our dogs and performers. (We can perform in smaller areas if need be; but the above dimensions are preferred.) We need to park our 25ft cargo trailer on one of the four sides of the performing area, and then we set up a 1020 ft tent. So, on one of the four sides we need an additional 18 ft (minimum) to set up our sound system, merchandise, crates, etc… Seating for the audience (bleachers are preferred) should be taken into consideration.

At least one 30AMP circuit (two is preferred if available) for our performance trailer is needed. We have Honda Inverter generators that we can use if need be, but prefer to have the electricity furnished by the hosting event. If night time shows are to be performed, we will need an additional two different 30AMP circuits to power our lighting trusses; if adequate lighting is not available.

Load in and set up can take up to 5 hours; depending upon the exact configuration. Where possible, we like to arrive the day prior to an event in order to get set up in advance, work through any logistical issues, and be refreshed and alert the next day when show time begins. Load out will occur after our last show on the final day, unless prior arrangements are agreed upon with the event management.

Each show lasts about 30-35 minutes, depending upon which show format is used. We then have a 5-15 minute meet and greet with the dogs after each show. 3-4 four dogs are used in each show; and audience participation is engaged when conditions are acceptable. We require a minimum of two hours between each scheduled show (our show is very high energy; and even though we use different dogs in each show, the human performers need to recoup and re-energize for the next show). We do ask that scheduling conflicts with other performers, bands, loud noise attractions, etc. be taken into consideration. Our dogs do perform to music, and out of respect for the audience; and too not distract the human or canine performers, we ask that these considerations be thought through.

Shows can be performed on other outdoor surface types, but that requires us to bring in our artificial turf (3660) and usually involves an additional cost.

We provide our own artificial turf which require dimensions of a minimum 3660 feet. Again, we need to set up at least our tent off of one side; and have the same electrical requirements as stated above. Seating should be taken into consideration. Ease of access to get our dogs in and out of the building between shows needs to be taken into consideration when determining final placement for our shows.

We do travel in a 41 ft Damon Tuscany Motor Coach and need to have it parked as close as possible to our performance area (at least eye sight visibility proximity). We travel with up to 14 dogs and only use 3-4 per show. The dogs that aren’t in that particular show are housed in the MC. So for ease of transport and security, we ask that it is always parked as close as possible.

We do live in the MC during shows, to cut down on expenses; so we do ask that the event take advantage of the discounted pricing by allowing us to stay on site, whenever possible. We do ask that an electricity (50AMP) and water hook be made available where possible.

Insurance:
The Disc-Connected K9′s are fully insured. Proof of insurance can be provided in advance of our arriving on site; but needs to be requested at least seven days in advance. There is no charge for providing this documentation. If the event needs us to underwrite them as an “Additionally Insured” entity, then there is an additional $50.00 fee required; and again, needs to be requested at least seven days prior to the event.

Dog’s Veterinary Records & USDA Documentation:
This information (USDA # 58-C-0929) is carried with us at all times and may be requested by any recognized entity at any time while we are participating at a contracted event.

References:
The Disc-Connected K9′s literally have hundreds of references from prior engagements. Depending upon your type of event (i.e. State Fairs, County Fairs, Music Festivals, Arts & Craft Festivals, Community Events, Humane Society Fund Raisers, Balloon Festivals, Themed Festivals, etc…) we will put you in contact with as many of each specific venue that you request.

Last, but not least; the Disc-Connected K9′s reserve the right to cancel any show, or portion of a show, if the weather or any other elements are deemed too dangerous for our dogs to perform.

Set/Song/Sequence List:
Each show is different and showcases different dogs. We normally only do three shows a day and guarantee three different shows on each day. We peform with three or 4 dogs each show and travel with up to 14 dogs. Each dog has their own specific routine and music.
