Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos

For a pair of self-taught pianists from Minnesota, David Charles Eichholz and Ted Manderfeld have mastered the sophisticated nuances of burlesque's best ribald and bawdy traditions made famous in Las Vegas and Paris. Eichholz and Manderfeld are the duo of Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos, a piano variety act offering a Las Vegas style show mix of comedy, enticing extensive audience participation and featuring an unlikely and surprising mix of music and parodies. Ranging from classic rock to country to rap to show tunes- they do it all, and they do it hilariously well. However, the key to their marathon of musical comedy lies in the unabashed and completely liberated participation of audience members ranging from ages 18 to 80.

Deuces Wild! is Dave & Ted- never will you get a substitute or stand-in. Different from most traveling Dueling Piano acts, we don’t utilize a roster of players and rotate them in and out. This is a class act only with the best standing talent.

David Charles Eichholz

Son of a miner from the northern woods of Minnesota, David Charles
Eichholz is a versatile, self taught musician outrageously skilled on the pi-
ano, guitar, saxophone, and just about anything else that makes music. In his
past David was part of the Pringles Award winning band “City Pretty” as
well as the band “Rave On!” Accolades follow true talent, and he was fea-
tured internationally on the Swedish television show 'Christine'. Soon re-
cruiters came a knockin’ and he joined Little Ditty's Dueling Piano Bar at the
Mall of America where he performed four nights each week for five years. In
his spare time (he doesn’t sleep) David recorded and produced the sound
track to "Prime Target" (50,000 copies sold).
David has been performing the dueling piano concept for over 10 years and
prides himself on evolving the concept into something more, something
unique. He holds the attention of his audience from the moment he takes the
stage and until the last note of the encore. You won’t find a more polished
entertainer with such a wide variety of skills. In countless shows audience’s
jaws drop in sheer amazement at this man’s musical talent. Just wait until
you hear the saxophone...

Ted Manderfeld

Ted got his start in Deuces Wild! by a simple act of bewildering con?dence-
walking out of his day-job and demanding an audition. Although he hadn't
previously played in a dueling piano style show, he proved better than a
natural. His amazing showmanship and ability to out perform as a world
class entertainer blew away the competition! And the rest is a funny winding
road-trip of traveling piano act history. Since that fateful day he’s played
thousands of dueling piano shows all over the world!
When not on the road with DWDP, Ted spends his time producing his roster
of sold out shows, including the Billy Joel and Elton John tribute show “Eye
2 Eye”, and the ever popular annual “Rock n Roll Xmas Spectacular” he co-
produces with 2 time grammy nominated guitarist, Paul Diethelm.
Ted dabbles his days in the studio as jingle writer, recording artist and pro-
ducer of both his first CD and recent Xmas CD, as an actor, and, even as a
game show host! Whether it be in front of thousands of people opening for
HBO’s Dennis Miller or in front of a few hundred people at the Red Carpet
in his hometown of St. Cloud, MN...Ted truly is a showman's showman and
musician’s musician.

Dear Upper Midwest Members:

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of hiring Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos as
entertainment at Nakoma Golf Club eight times. Each time I have been increasingly
impressed with their talent and professionalism. I have verbally recommended them to
many other clubs and will continue to do so.

Although Deuces Wild has played at Nakoma numerous times, they continue to draw
large crowds. In addition, Dave and Ted are extremely humorous and talented. They
understand the club environment and can cater their show to that crowd. They have
become a part of the Nakoma team and help to enhance the “Nakoma Experience.”
This is truly a “home run” event for your membership. If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact me.

The guys played for almost three hours for our wedding reception! And I would say that 95% of the crowd stayed until the very end when the lights came on. Nobody wanted to leave, and that’s what we wanted! It was professional and entertaining from the first note to the last note, and their ability to use the different participants and their creativity with the music was what made people want to stay. My only true regret is not having a video camera, because there was so much going on with the dancing and singing with everyone that it was hard for us to take it all in.

Now, almost three years after our wedding reception, we continue to receive compliments from our friends that attended the reception and still stay to us, “that was the best wedding reception I’ve ever been to. It was awesome.” The thing that makes the guys great is their superior knowledge of the music, and their ability to improvise with the crowd and the different people they pull up on stage.

Their truly great personalities and musicianship make them successful and entertaining in any venue. It was something I will always remember!
