Derrick Mitchell began writing music at the age of sixteen. During his late-teen years, he began perfecting his crafts as he began to perform in garages and city parks. D.M began to develop the ambition to outshine his peers with his rhyming style. After gaining recognition throughout southern California, Derrick began working on his series of street mixtapes called State of Mind. He released three volumes. While selling his mixtapes on the streets of Los Angeles and Long Beach, D.M began to perform at local lounges and clubs. Today, Derrick Mitchell continues to stay Fressshh!
