About

I am 29 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 10. I started my first band when I was 13 and gigged with a few bands while I was in high school. I went to Berklee in Boston. I later did my undergrad at UWO where I played in a reggae band at a bunch of bars around the campus. My ambition is to play gigs all the time to enable myself to get better as a musician. My greatest strengths are writing, collaborating and shredding solos. My weakness is bad music.

Influences

Jimi Hendrix is by far my favorite guitarist/songwriter/musician and has therefore influenced me immensely. Led Zepplin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Steppenwolf, Cream, Queen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Santana all heavily influenced my guitar playing as well as what sound I am striving for with my bands. I grew up in the 90's and therefore have a place in my heart for probably too many grunge bands like Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Mudhoney. The usual jazz guys I love: John Mclaughlin, Joe Pass, John Scofield, Django, Miles, Coltrane and Dizzy Gillespie. The current bands that I like are John Mayer, Wolfmother, Muse and The Killers.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 240 minutes

I will play a mix of classic rock, alternative, blues, funk, reggae, jazz and pop music. I usually loop an acoustic rhythm part, and then add some texture with my electric. Some of the covers that I will play are: Angel, bold as love, castles made of sand, the wind cries mary, little wing, hey joe, red house, mary had a little lamb, pride and joy, it stoned me, hunger strike, chloe dancer/crown of thorns, plush, waiting on the world to change, tears in heavon, river of deceit, rooster, disarm, old man, southern man, sample in a jar, waste, closer to the heart, tom sawyer, nothing else matters, lithium, polly, no woman no cry, mellow mood, stairway to heaven, wild world, bell bottom blues, tears in heaven, ziggy stardust, take 5, autumn leaves, chameleon, cissy strut, under the bridge and I'm your's. I am always open to requests and can usually accomodate any.

Additional Notes:
I play my acoustic and sing without being mic'd. If the event is large, I can bring my PA system with 2 speakers that will provide more than enough sound for most rooms. I also will use my electric guitar, looper and amp to give more of a fuller sound. I can provide mics for the client to use if needed. I can also hook up any mp3 player/computer/phone to my sound system if the client needs to play some pre-recorded music.
