Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames is the essential Chicago Blues Band with corporate capabilities due to the members lengthy work with other bands such as Howlin Wolf, BB King, Muddy Waters, the Dells, Ramsey Lewis, Tyrone Davis, JB Hutto, Koko Taylor, Gatemouth Brown, Otis Rush, Lonnie Brooks, Eddy Clearwater and many more!

This band is signed to the famous Delmark Records! This label has been featuring the best in Chicago Blues and Jazz for over 58 years and is home to Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, JB Hutto, and the cream of the Chicago Blues crop! This band has also recorded for Alligator Records, Chess, and was signed previously to Earwig records.

They consist of four singers, one female, Monica Myhre, who won two RMAI's and has been singing professionally since age six, a Motown singing drummer, Jeff Taylor who worked with Artie Blues Boy White, Lonnie Brooks, Eddy Clearwater, the Dells, Tyrone Davis and more, and Dave Weld himself, the guitarist and vocalist who recorded for Alligator, Earwig and Delmark Records, was in the Howlin Wolf Band, the Hound Dog Taylor Band, the Houserockers, and was mentored by the Grammy winning Hall of Fame bluesman JB Hutto!! Also featured is a sax man and legendary bassit Dave Kaye who worked with Screamin Jay Hawkins, Dave Hole, Bo Diddley, Liz Mandiville and more!

This band has toured Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, England, Japan, Carribean, (where they worked and played concerts with Bonnie Raitt, Charles Brown and Taj Mahal), Canada, most states in the United States, and regularly plays at the Chicago Bluesfest, Buddy Guy's, The Chicago House of Blues, The Palmer House, Pete Millers, Blues on Whyte in Edmunton Alberta, and every cafe, restaurant, bar, concert hall, theater in the Midwest that features exciting music!

Their latest CD on Delmark, "Burnin Love" is featured on Sirius Radio, BB King's Blues, the worlds most famous blues show, and they made rave reviews from Downbeat, Sing Out, Blues Revue, Living Blues, the Chicago Blues Guide, Soul Bag(France), Il Blues (Italy), and the reviews from their latest tour of Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland were so emphatic that they have been asked back to every single venue, as well as their latest tour of Calgary and Edmunton Alberta!

Corporate work is their hallmark, having tight three part harmonies, first class PA, professional and easy to get along with, Motown, Oldies, POP and the own signature Chicago Blues originals that brought them around the world time after time!

Sound capabilities will be reviewed, so the right equipment will be brought, and the set up time discussed and planned out, the sets and set list will be planned out, the dynamics of the evening will be worked out, the logistics and directions will be reviewed, and the method of payment will be discussed, so there will only be pleasant suprises, and a relaxing, intimate atmosphere is provided!

Set/Song/Sequence List:
We offer a host of services to include the different moods of an evening or event, depending on the needs of our client.
Corporate gigs can be very sedate, and weddings require music for dining as well as dancing, so for those vents we start slow with standards and quiet medleys, and after announcements we move into recognizable dance tunes, and later our own danceable blues and originals. Or for a blues party in the backyard, we start with dancing blues from the start and end up full throttle!

Some gigs are so quiet we need not use a microphone, others we turn up to 11! On a typical corporate gig or wedding, we need to first set a mood that is comfortable for the clients, we can start with a little Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Horace Sliver,
and quieter versions of pop or oldies such as "Stand By me", "My Girl" (three part harmony), "Can't stop lovin you" or "easy as Sunday Morning" or others of this quality.

Then we move into more danceable tunes as those by Ray Charles, the Temptations, Wilson Picket, the Blues Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Beatles, Elvis, Van Morrison, Etta James, the Rolling Stones and more!

After that we can add some danceable Chicago Blues by Muddy Waters, BB KIng, Howlin Wolf and Bo Diddley, as well as more oldies Rock and Roll and tunes from our various cd's, featuring "Burnin love" on Delmark Records, that is currently being played on Sirius Radio. This is the most exciting part of the night or event and many times it is at full throttle, with dancers requesting swing, ballads, oldies, rock and roll and our own originals blended into a fusion of interaction and music!

We also take requests for the announcement stage, featuring First Dance, or Father of the Bride, or garter toss and or dedications and general announcements
