Dahne's use of veil, zills (finger cymbals) and raqs cane will bring dramatic flair and excitement to any event.
Dahne is available for bellygrams, bachelorette parties, wedding receptions and family events. If requested, she can coordinate other dancers and put together a belly dance show with a variety of dance styles. (NO ALL MALE EVENTS)
Dahne is also available for private and group lessons.
About
Dahne began her dance studies in 1991 with modern dance, going on study ballroom dance at Georgia State University. Since 2007 she has studied various forms of Middle Eastern belly dance through classes and workshops, mainly with local and international instructors Diane Adams (USA) and Tito Seif (Egypt). Her various studies of belly dance styles include Raqs Sharqi, Beledi, Saidi, Sha'abi, and Andalusian.
Dahne has performed solo pieces for Atlanta BOCA (Belly Dancers of Color Association) and Greater Atlanta Punjabi Association shows, pivate and public events, various Atlanta fundraisers as well as group showcases with Company Mezza. Her current projects are centered on Oriental styles, Egyptian folkloric and rural dances.
Having a background in musical theatre, Dahne is no stranger to the theatrical stage. Her dance style incorporates the flair and grandeur of theatrical choreography with the deep emotional expression of Egyptian Raqs Sharqi.
In 2011, Dahne began writing for Examiner.Com as Atlanta Bellydance Examiner covering special events, shows, venues and profiles for Atlanta's international belly dance community.
Influences
I am influenced by Golden Age belly dancers and modern Raqs Stars such as Tito Seif, Randa Kamel and Lulu Sabonji.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 6 - 20 minutes
Audience members will experience lively, upbeat music to either modern or traditional Arabic music. A show may include colorful veil, zill (finger cymbals) or cane pieces. Costumes are tasteful, colorful and modest; costume choice of full coverage or open belly can be requested.
