Why hire Corcovado?

Dance to the smooth rhythms of the SALSA, CUMBIA, MERENGUE, Cha-Cha, Bolero, Bossa, Latin Rock, Reggae, Motown, R&B, Rock and Jazz or explode on the dance floor with a fast Soca or Samba.
Our high energy will bring to mind the colorful images of Latin America and the Caribbean.
About
CORCOVADO is a San Francisco - California based band. However the name comes from the mountain in which stands one of
Brazil's most famous landmarks, the 98-foot statue of Christ, overlooking Rio de Janeiro.
The 6 piece Salsa/Cumbia/Merengue band consists of: 1)Keyboards/Vocals, 2)Bass, 3)Drums, 4)Percussion, 5)Trumpet and 6)Sax or Trombone.
The 4 piece Salsa/Cumbia/Merengue band consists of: 1)Keyboards/Vocals, 2)Bass, 3)Trumpet and 4)Sax or Trombone and a Drum Machine that is programmed with many different Rhytms.
This would be the smallest size band that still feels comfortable playing all the Latin Music styles.
The 5 piece Latin Jazz band consists of: 1)Vibraphone/Vocals, 2)Keyboards, 3)Bass, 4)Drums and 5)Percussion.
We also perform as a Duo, Trio or larger band - up to a 14 piece ensemble with bigger horn section and more singers.
We bring a medium size P.A system that is available for toasts and speeches. We also bring a portable CD player to play music during our breaks.
Letters of recommendation are available upon request.
What to Expect
I would like to emphazise that we do play a wide variety of Latin Music and we do play other styles as well; like Jazz, Pop, R&B, Motown, Reggae etc.
We play backgroung, listening and dance music. In other words, we have enough repertoire to cover many different situations.
My 4 piece band have been hired to play, quite a lot this year.
The instrumentation is:
1)Keyboard/lead voc 2)Bass 3)Trumpet 4)Sax and a Drum Machine that I have programmed with many different rhythms.
I could say this is the smallest band configuration in wich we can still play Latin Music comfortably. If you have a bigger budget, the drum machine is replaced by a drummer and a conga player.
I bring a medium size P.A system, that is available for toasts and speeches. We also bring a CD player to play music during the band breaks.
Most of the time the band's coordinator is with the band; she helps with the sound system, sings background vocals and plays hand percussion.
