ColumbusMark's One-Man-Band

Why book ColumbusMark's One-Man-Band?

Mark Levin performs for a variety of events as a one-man-band keyboardist. He blends music from the past to present based on the needs of the event. Using his keyboard, amp, and a microphone or two...Mark will provide an event made more memorable with the addition of live music - perfect for private parties, restaurants, grand openings, retirement communities, and anytime you need to liven things up.

Mark can provide music that's quiet and comforting to rousing combos and big-band numbers. And guests are welcome to sing-along if the mood hits them.

Mark has performed from Canada to New Orleans and now bases out of Columbus, NC.

Great energy and wide range of music

Mark has great talent. His music is very appropriate as "background music" or for him to perform for 45/50 minutes as a solo performer.

Must Have Entertainer

Mark is an excellent performer. I have had him come to my independent living facility almost every month to sing and play for my senior residents. They love him!!! He is always on time and prepared for anything. He has a great selection of different types of music that anybody would love.

Overview

Mark provides a good solid performance of music based on your audience make-up. Music ranges from ballads to classic rock, country to folk, show tunes to waltzes...you name it...ColumbusMark will probably play it. My repertoire spans over half a century of musical favorites. You will receive a master playlist before the event. You can choose songs you particularly wish to hear or ask that others be specifically left off. And if you don't see your favorite, just ask - but ask ahead of the event.

Music can be quiet and back-groundish (like for dining) or pumped up for dancing and cavorting. You choose - and you can choose both!

Mark does sing for some songs and invites audience members "with talent" to add to the fun. A spare mic or two will be provided and set up ready to go.

Your guests will enjoy the music and come away happier because of the experience.

Additional Booking Notes

The person hiring the musician will be responsible for the behavior of their guests. In other words, it only takes ten seconds for one out-of-control guest to wreck thousands of dollars of electronic equipment with just one spilled drink. ColumbusMark will encourage singers to sing along, but no one plays the keyboard but ColumbusMark. I'll need it for my next gig. Please make sure you understand this and ask questions before hiring. You don't want any surprises (except pleasant ones) and neither do I.

ColumbusMark's One-Man-Band

I started playing “professionally” when I was around 11 years old. Yep, that’s right. I played clarinet with the Dixie 5, a combo and we got ten bucks one night at a talent show. So divide that out by five members and adjust it for decades of inflation and that’s about the same money I get today. I really hit the big time (at least that’s what I thought as a teenager) when I got hired to play dinner music at a couple of restaurants in Myrtle Beach, SC. I returned for three summers during my high school years and loved it.

I played a few gigs during college (wedding receptions and other private parties) and then joined another band as a keyboardist after college in New Orleans. We were the Park Avenue Trio and performed wherever they would have us.

And now I’m at it again...or actually...still at it. But wow have the keyboards changed! And I guess, so have I.

I also play banjo and also team up with a guitarist as "Music Alive."

I live in Columbus, North Carolina with Bobbie, my very understanding wife, and a variety of family pets.
