Overview

About

A Big Banjo greeting to all of you and thanks for inquiring about our clown services.

I love music and have found that nothing excites kids more then hearing their favorite singalong songs played by myself on my trusty Banjo. To add to the fun I bring along a variety of musical instruments for them to experiment and play along with as I do my show.

I play many of the standards such as Wheels of the Bus, the ABC medley, Itsy Bitsy Spider and a host of other children's songs played in my unique bluegrass style.

I also do a variety of musical games with my banjo as well. I can do old favorites such as musical chairs or hot potatoe. One of my favorites is the barnyard ho-down where the kids take on the persona of their favorite animals and dance along to the smile inducing, finger snapping musical melodies that only a Banjo can induce.

Music isn't my only passion. As a former actor and comedian I have many fun improvisational games for children of all ages. I believe children, and adults for that matter, are only limited by their imaginations. My parties attempt to tap into each child's creative process through interactive games and stories. As a father of 5 year old son I have *grin* found I need to continuously work on my act.

I of course round out my parties dependent on the client's needs. I am a gifted face painter, ballon artist and have a host of silly magic tricks that children love. I am extremely flexible and can adapt my parties to ensure that your child and their friends have the best time possible.

I was one of the featured performers at Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink, which is located in the heart of Central Park NYC. It is Manhattans number one amusement park for chilldren, which features rides, games and childrens shows.I am available for birthday parties, Bar Mitzvahs, corporate events, colleges, special events, store promotions, street fairs and anything else you can think of. I've clowned in hospitals and at health fairs and truly enjoy helping people.

I also have a background in education and that combined with my clowning and parenting experience, makes me super "in tune" with what makes kids happy. My wife is also a clown if you need a clown team for your event. We are both proud members of the World Clown Association and are fully insured. Should you decide to book my signature banjo show, be warned...you will not get my silly songs out of your head!

What to Expect

Banjo The Clown Show: My show is ideal for kids 3 to 8 years old. The show runs 30 min What entertains 8 year olds and holds their attention may not hold the attention of younger children, which is why I continually switch up the order of what I do.

In general I will open with my Banjo the Clown Song, followed by "Happy and You know It" and end this portion with "Old Mc Donald" With old Mc Donald I have some intro schtick about the type of farm we have. At the end of the song I have a dance contest to see who dances best as a chicken. I speed it up..slow it down...and have them burn alot of calories.

After 3 songs or so I go into my magic show. I usually start off with my balloon through the needle trick, which I introduce by telling the Jack and the Bean stalk story. I do several sponge ball tricks, achange bag routine and other stage magic. In general I will do 4 to 5 tricks.

After the magic I introduce the musical instruments to the show by exclaiming that my bands car broke down and I have no one to be my band. Of course the kids volunteer to be my band so I call all of them or just a few to be my band. I bring some hand drums, tamborines, morrocas and other rythm instruments and do a medely of songs with the kids.

The "Band" and I will play some or all of these songs "itsy-bitsy- spider", "She'll be coming Round the Mountain", "Twinkle-Twinkle/ ABC Song"

I also play several musical games such as hot potato and limbo.
