Great Wedding entertainment!
We made a last minute decision to have a caricature artist as entertainment at our wedding, and I'm glad we did! Everyone loved the idea and it was a great take-home for the guests! Heather seemed to be a lot of fun and everyone really enjoyed their pictures. My only (small) complaint is that I had requested printed paper with our names and wedding dates. Heather did write this on the pages with her marker, but it wasn't quite as professional as I was expecting. Overall, great experience though!

I usually print the paper ahead of time when requested, and I charge a fee for this. I admitted to Lauren that I had missed my note to print the paper, and I removed the fee. I am only human, and sometimes I make mistakes. When this happens, I do my best to remedy the situation.

About
Heather Joy draws caricatures quickly and captures the personality of the people she draws...in only 5 minutes! She uses marker on 8.5x11 paper for black-and-white, (which only takes 2 minutes per person) then adds rich color and dimension with Artstix, which are woodless colored pencils that look like chalk (full color only takes 5 minutes). She also offers airbrushed color as an impressive option, and it still only takes 5 minutes a face.
When you see Heather draw her first face, you can tell that she has doing this awhile...22 years in fact! She began her career at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, in 1990. While working there every summer for 5 years, she finished high school and moved to Chicago to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1995, she moved to Las Vegas to do caricatures full-time, at the hotels/casinos Excalibur, MGM, New York New York, Treasure Island, and the Mirage.
Now Heather lives in Austin, Texas, just 3 hours away from her hometown of Fort Worth. She has a successful art career, a company name ArtByHJoy with a website and an art studio space. Since 2001, she has lived in Austin and has developed good relationships with a collection of professional caricature artists, face painters, balloon twisters and magicians. So, if you need additional entertainers for your event, ArtByHJoy can provide them as well!

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 120 - 240 minutes
Heather's live performance is bubbly and fun, she draws funny pictures of people and they love it! You'll always see her with the largest crowd and the most fanatic audience! She draws as fast as she can, 15-30 people per hour, depending on whether she is hired to do B&W or color.
Stage/Setup Requirements:
3 chairs and small cocktail table
Additional Notes:
Electrical outlet nearby for lights and compressor if using airbrush, 3 chairs and a small cocktail table. Must be located in the shade if outside, and generally in a location that is visible and has enough space around for people to gather and watch.
