Abingdon based belly dancer Amartia, provides the most extravagant entertainment in Maryland. She has been dubbed the Greek Bellydance Bombshell!

Amartia is a Baltimore native of Greek descent. She was involved in Greek Folk dancing from childhood to adulthood. She stumbled upon bellydancing class at a local gym and has never looked back!

Bellydance appealed to her not only as an art form but a way to stay in shape. Hence one spectator commenting, “…massive melodic muscles of the Mediterranean aka killer abs..”

Her style can be best described as Modern Egyptian/ Lebanese cabaret. However, given her Greek heritage and training she has been able to combine those styles into her own form of fusion, Greco-Egyptian Cabaret.

She is a regular dancer at Bombay nights, Sizzling bombay, and D’Tandoor Indian Cuisine. She has also performed nationwide at Rakkasah West and East, at the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive, at La Danse Oriental, at The Blue Monk and at the Hawthorne in Oregon.

Amartia is an award-winning bellydancer. She has traveled to compete all over the United States. She is the 2008 Jewel of the Nile and the first place winner for veil dance from Arabian Nights. More recently she was one of the 23 bellydancers chosen to compete in the first seson of a reality web-show- Project bellydance! which is now gearing up for Season 2! Amartia, Extravagent entertainment in Maryland has also been featured in Fuse Magazine

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 10 - 45 minutes

Maryland belly dancer Amartia offers several packages to meet your needs.
Appetizer package: Starts at $225 Amartia will perform a short bellygram performance. She will wow your guests, get the party started & poof! be gone. Great for birthday surprises.
Full Course package: Starts at $300 Amartia will arrive in a couture costume, her performance will incude 2 props & audience participation. This is a longer show that allows for mood changes. She can also customize her costuming and music to fit YOUR needs. This is great for parties, events, & weddings.
The Greek Experience package: Starts at $325 Amartia will perform a full course show with Greek music. It will include one of her signature Greek costume, 2 props ( one can be the Greek flag veil if desired) & audience participation. She can also lead your guests in a Greek line dance to close out her performance.
Full Meal and a Bonus package: Starts at $375 Amartia will perform a full show, with props & audience participation. After which she will remain in costume & teach you and your guests some moves!
Mini-Bonus package: Rate varies for length of time Amartia will arrive in a sparkly bellydance teaching outfit (not full costume) & teach you & your guests some moves. This lesson can be tailored to a style or a piece of music.
Ambiance package: Starts at $175/hr Do you want the mystery of a bellydancer without the performance? This is the package for you. Amartia will arrive in full costume & greet your guests as well as pose for photos. This does not include a performance but may be that extra touch that your event needs

Stage/Setup Requirements:
A CD player is nice to play music on but I have an Ipod dock that I can bring upon request
