Too Blue Lou And The Groove
Overview
Hire us if you want the most swingin', head boppin', bodies movin' like crazy, 4 piece jazz band around. "Too Blue Lou And The Groove" also known as the first hip bop band really rocks the house by combining the traditional walking bass with thicker, heavier hip hop like rhythms. That, played under all the brilliant improv creates an exciting, danceable, party atmosphere unlike any other jazz band out there. We even have Beyonce's saxophonist. So quick! Don't walk! Dive for the phone and book us before we become too famous.

Lou, we just wanted to thank you and your associate on the sax for your great music on a very cold and wintry night last month!.
Besides enjoying your music, we were very pleased with your professionalism, attire and overall attitude / demeanor. We were concerned that we would have a problem due to the weather, but without me saying a word, you and your associate not only were on time, but from what I understand very, very early to ensure that there we be no problem.
You are a class act, and we look forward to seeing you in aught nine!

About
LOU MONTELIONE is a recording artist with Jazzheads Records. The debut CD he did for the label, "Comin' Back Home" was a mainstream jazz outing with the late great John Stubblefield on sax, Michael Logan on bass and Cecil Brooks III on drums. Among the rave reviews: "You'll hear something new and exciting every time this abundantly melodious disk starts spinning. As George Foreman says, ‘I guarantee it.'" "…an unpretentious and competent post-bopper who has plenty to say and proceeds directly to the business at hand, which is making lovely music that swings." --Jack Bowers, Jazz News "a very impressive effort that helps define and stretch the boundaries of today's modern mainstream jazz." --Scott Yanow, Editor, All Music Guide To Jazz "I really enjoyed this one! You will, too…I gave it a ‘most highly recommended' for those in love with jazz with character." --Dick Metcalf, Improvijazzation Nation With a critically acclaimed CD to his name and after decades of performing every type of music, Montelione decided it was time to realize his own personal musical vision. He began looking for people who were not only well versed in jazz, no small feat in itself, but who also had a funk sensibility as well. After months of ads and auditions, the band finally came together and recorded Montelione's second CD for Jazzheads Records at the famed Quad Studios. ERIC HUFF, saxophonist, has played and arranged for Beyonce Knowles. He has also performed with Gloria Gaynor, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kirk Franklin, Clifton Davis, Melba Moore, Billy Preston, Ron Kenoly, Chops Horns, just to name a few. He has also toured extensively in Europe, Southeast Asia and Russia. Huff is very active in the gospel community as well, and he and his wife, Sandra, released the sensitive gospel CD, "Love Takes Time" in 2001. DAISUKE ABE, guitarist, born in Tokyo, started playing jazz at the Jazz Course of Senzoku Gakuen College in Yokohama and graduated at the head of his class in 1999. He received a world scholarship to Berklee College of Music and graduated in 2002. He also got the "Louis Belson Award" from the School. During his stay in Boston, he studied and played with great jazz musicians such as Hal Crook, Tiger Okoshi George Gazone and many others. Since moving to New York, Abe frequently performs at Cleopatra's Needle and the Blue Note. Abe's debut CD, "On My Way Back Home" was released in late 2005 with Rodney Green on drums, Matt Brewer on bass, Walter Smith on tenor sax, Aaron Parks on piano and Gretchen Parlato on vocals. ROY WEINBERGER, drummer, has performed with greats from all genres of music such as (Classic Rock) Bo Diddley, Percy Sledge, Laverne Baker, Robbie Kreiger, Del Shannon and (Jazz) Jaki Byard, Bob Neloms, Slam Stewart, Carmine D'Amico, Steve Brown to (Classical) Tri-Cities Opera, BC Pops, Binghamton Symphony to (Society) Jerry Vale, Sammy Kaye, Connie Haines. He has played major coliseums, concert halls stadiums and festivals in over 25 countries and 35 states in the U.S. Weinberger has been seen on television shows, Good Morning America, 20/20, American Journal, Entertainment Tonight, PM Magazine and many more. MIKE AIDOO is an upcoming Brooklyn rapper/vocalist with a powerful political message and performs with Too Blue Lou as a guest artist.
