You’re on your way to enjoying a fantastic Pony Party.
Saddle Up, It’s Time to Party!
Ponies and horses have always been adored by children. From petting, riding, to just
watching, kids are amazed by these beautiful animals. If you want your son or daughter to have
a party they or their friends will never forget then a Pony Party is the perfect theme for you! Let
Gig Salad guide you along the way to putting on the most talked about party of the year!
Backyard Barnyard
The only rule for picking the place of your pony party is to have an outside area for the guests to be able to take rides on
and pet the ponies. In most cases pony rental companies can bring the party to your very own
backyard, another place of your choice, or you can go to their facility. The pony rental company
will have all the supplies and equipment needed to take care of the ponies and provide safe
rides for the children. Just pick whatever place is the most convenient for you.
Spice up the Stables
Party decor is the key to
transforming your space into a Western wonderland. The two most popular pony party themes
are Western and Pink Pony. If you go with a Western theme make sure you greet your guests
with bandannas and cowboy hats to wear during the party. Have mini hay bales set up around
a real or a fake fire. Use lassos, horseshoes, and fake cactus as decorations. Get really into the
Western spirit and label your eating area as the Saloon. If your child would prefer a Pink Pony
theme, then make your party fit for a princess! Use pink and purple decorations and have lots
of sparkles, confetti, streamers, and balloons. If you really want your child to feel like royalty,
have a mini horse drawn
carriage! Sometimes the pony rental company will even have these. Give or have each
child make their own paper or plastic crown. The more jewels and sparkles adorning your Pink
Pony Party the better!
Giddy-up and Let the Games Begin
When the children are not busy riding the ponies, they will need some other forms
of entertainment to fill the gaps. The options are endless, but some fun games include;
feed sack races, stick horse races with obstacle courses, rubber horse shoes, bobbing for
apples, and pin the tail on the pony. For prizes, have ribbons like they give in horse races
for the participants. Some other great children’s party entertainment that kids go crazy for are face painters, a petting zoo, a reptile show, educational entertainment, and carnival rides. Make sure you set the mood for your pony party
with some good old country music or children’s music that will get the kids excited and ready to have fun.
Cowboy Cuisine
You will need to re-energize your riders with some tasty and fun food and drinks. If you
are having a Western theme then keep it classic and have some Barbecued burgers and hot
dogs. If you want them to feel like real cowboys and cowgirls have them roast their own hot
dog on a stick over a fire. For treats, have smores and trail mix. Finally, quench their thirst
with some bottled root-beer. If you are having a Pink Pony theme, have pink iced cookies,
cupcakes, and cake with pretty sprinkles and plastic horses on top. Pink punch or soda is
perfect for beverages. Ice cream served in plastic trophies is always a hit for either theme you
choose. Along with that, make sure your cake amazes everyone by hiring a cake decorator to make the perfect cake
that goes perfectly with the theme of your pony party!
Y’all Come Back!
Don’t let your guests go home empty handed. Wrap their party favors in a bandanna or a small feed sack tied
with a ribbon. Along with that, give them a keepsake to take home by having a photographer at the party who
takes pictures of the kids on the ponies with their princess crowns on or their cowboy hats and
bandannas. The children and their parents will equally love it!
