Event DJ
Need a DJ for your corporate or private event? An Event Disc Jockey is an individual who selects, announces and plays dance music in a wedding reception, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, company holiday or Christmas party, fundraising event, birthday or anniversary party. They can feature songs associated with the theme of the event (Luau, Western, Latin, Disco, Top 40) as well as dress according to the theme of the event. Karaoke is also very popular in the repertoire of an event DJ.
Club DJ
Who's on the ones and twos in your club? Small clubs, neighborhood parties, a discos, raves, or larger clubs need DJs to keep the party moving. Music is the name of the game for club DJs. They focus more on the music and "beatmixing" (or "beatmatching") or "Mashups" to wow their crowds. Using a seamless mix by matching the tempos of two different songs, the club DJs control the energy level of the crowd. In New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Seattle, and other major cities, Club DJs command a following, and the attendance level of the most popular of the clubs will rest on the popularity of the DJ spinning that night.
Radio DJ
A radio disc jockey plays music that is broadcast across radio waves. Radio DJs are notable for their personalities. Radio DJs do not typically pick the music to play at stations, as songs are now often pre-selected, and emceeing becomes their primary duty.
Wedding DJ
For Wedding entertainment, most brides select either alive band or a disc jockey to play at their reception. A Wedding DJ typically selects, announces and plays dance music in a wedding reception. They can feature songs associated with the theme of the reception as well as dress according to the theme if that is the married couple's preference, though some wish for the DJ to visually fade into the background while the music he spins is the star of the show. The wedding DJ specializes in wedding receptions, and confers with the bride and groom as well as the wedding planner to meet their needs, such as announcing their grand entrance at the reception, the father of the bride dance, their first dance as a married couple, the cutting of the cake, etc. and playing coinciding songs of their choice.
