We are a 7-piece horn band based in Kalamazoo. We are a band for all ages that plays the timeless music of the great horn bands. We are mostly known for doing very authentic covers from Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, and The Blues Brothers. However, we do a huge variety including Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, Santana, Buddy Miles, Average White Band, The Ides of March, Lighthouse, Wilson Pickett, Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, The Temptations, and much more. We have been touring the midwest region since 2004 and performing at weddings, country clubs, festivals, corporate events, city concerts, and more. 33rd Street Band is a live band for all ages, and is equally comfortable as a concert band or a dance band. The music we play is classic. Most of our music was popular in the 1970's, but interestingly most of our clientele was born in the 1980's. And of course the baby boomers grew up on our tunes and can't believe their ears when they hear one live band that does such an authentic re-creation of so many of their favorites.

Upon request, 33rd Street Band teams up with the acclaimed Blues Brothers impersonators, The Soul Men from Cleveland, OH to authentically re-create The Blues Brothers phenomenon. We know virtually all of The Blues Brothers music like the back of our hand, and The Soul Men are a real hoot. They are great at engaging the crowd while on stage and off. Together we can do a show of up to 4 hours. The Blues Brothers portion lasts about an hour, but 33rd Street Band can provide a huge variety for the rest while The Soul Men mingle and schmooze your crowd.

We can also provide background/dinner music. The whole band does our normal genres of music, but just in a turned-down or unplugged mode. At this point the whole band does not do much jazz. If it's jazz you want, then one of our members does a dinner music solo act on keyboards, vocals, sax and enhanced by some electronically sequenced music. He also performs with a jazz trio and quartet if that is what is desired.

33rd Street Band is a super versatile band that is top-notch for nearly all of your entertainment needs. We have raised the bar for music acts in the region since 2003, and it just keeps getting better. Contact us today!
